The AWS-9M was designed to hold 3 ER PPCs, stock.

The TDR-9S was designed to hold 1 ER PPC, stock.

Yet the TDR-9S sports a smaller frame and better cooling. The result? 3 ER PPC Tbolts all over the place, and very few 3 ER PPC AWS-9Ms.

Justice I say! The mech with the biggest ER PPC cooldown buff should be the mech designed for it!

Agreed, as I'm sure is the concensus. The quirks are completely messed up and should be more in line with the original mech's design. The Highlander with its current lack of jump ability being another prime example.

Yep, mines been gathering dust for some time now.
Would be nice for the 9M to finally be good at what its supposed to be good at

This ignores that the TDR occupies a heavy slot, and weighs in at a nifty 65 tons. While the Awesome is an 80 ton assault, arguably the weakest category of assaults, with a bigger frame, and comparatively bad hitboxes. (The TDR has high energy mounts on the STs) In CW especially, the TDR will be the favorite even if the Awesome had 40% quirks. Simply because of the advantages of the frame.

What the awesome needs more than any of the other buffs, is a geometry update. The model needs to be made thinner.

No. The Warhawk is a stronger assault mech.

Proper balance is Lostech.

If it'll ever find its way into the ECM-protected offices in Vancouver, there might be hope yet.

It's very graceful in that area - but that may change - ghost heat is going to be looked at and clan quirks are coming.

It could really use some better ERPPC Quirks, which is a little bit more of a quick fix

It just blows my mind that the TDR-9S got double the strength of the AWS-9M's quirks. I mean yeah, the Thunderbolts weren't great before quirks, but they were nowhere near as bad as the Awesomes where, and certainly not enough to warrant a whopping 50% heat reduction when the Awesome, a contender for absolute worst mech in the game, got 25%.

Could always give the Awesome 9M even greater velocity quirks to differentiate it from the 9S. It still wont' be able to run 3, but at least they'll be more accurate.

The Op is 100% correct. I was happy the awsome was finally going to be viable and for the players that pilot them. So couldnt agree more with the OP.

I'm actually agreed here. Swap the 0M and 9S buffs to ER PPCs and it should actually balance them out. It honestly seems like they've been reversed this whole time. Maybe give 9M a 40% since its an Assault and could have more heatsink space and tonnage. Don't wanna give it some crazy lot heat do we?

100% agree. As others have stated it is MIND BOGGLING that they gave the 50% buffs to the 9S, when the 9M is clearly the mech that should have recieved them. Also in terms of balance it would be less manueverable and a larger target (not to mention the hideous hit boxes).

And in truth the 50% bonuses are just ridiculous in themselves. I mean did they seriously think massively overpowering a single mech was going to "balance" the game ?!?

So far I think the AWS-9M is still alright (but maybe that's because I havent taken it into combat enough to feel otherwise). Make its ER PPC a little more cooler running (but probably not as much as the current TDR-9S), further increase ER PPC velocity quirks and I think it's in a good place. As for the TDR-9S, lower the overall ER PPC Heat Gen quirk to perhaps 30-35.

Be careful, you'll break the illusion that only clan players are upset about the Thunderbolt 9S.

More Thunderbolt whine. Enough already.
