The Raven 3L... Yes, Seriously

3L would be the obvious choice as next variant and for the third I took the 4X because AC20 raven. Funny thing is I never build that, instead I run 2 LPL on it and that is good.
So the 3L, I thought, meh, this will be cheese, 2 ERLL, ECM and let's go...
And now, after 25 matches and 0.79 K/D with a avg. damage of 217 per match I have to admit: that meta build doesn't fit for me.
So what now? 3ML with streaks? Saw some SRM builds but can't see how to keep the top speed with meaningful damage... so I think I need some help or ideas here

You can drop to an XL 280 for an extra ton of ammo.

And 1x LPL and 2x MLas. [ecm]
I've had success with both of those - never much found a place for SRM builds, myself, and the ERLLas build just doesn't suit my playstyle. It's the best build for the mech for a reason... I just personally don't enjoy that reason. =]

Personlly, I'vebeen runnin this now for a long while with good results. Less of a hunter-killer, more support and escort.

If you wanted more of a striker role, drop the TAG and BAP and pick up the 3rd ML and improve heat and/or ammo. If you want to go streaks (which I also used for ages before current build) I'd suggest keeping the BAP and drop Artemis, but that is up to personal tastes. I use the SRM2w/Art just for the tighter grouping and the BAP to improve sensor ranges for scouting and ECCM.
Alternatively, you can just strap on an SRM4+Art which also works well.

Play it as a close support mech and it excels.

I don't mark myself a great pilot... but in my 3L, I'm generally one of the last to die and have done anywhere from 400-600 damage. The build uses 2xERLL, BAP (sensor range), and ECM. I could probably live without the BAP. I've got full armor everywhere except my legs, which have 29 each. Again - it's a sniper, hidden with allies, poking around corners. Don't hesitate to cut your ERLL shot off a little early to get behind cover again.
My "power" Raven is the 2X with 2xLPL's. It's a little monster. I've invested somewhere over 10,000,000 C-Bills into it. It's intended to hide among allies again, but because it's not packing ECM it's hardly ever the first thing to be shot. It also pulses out 22 damage quickly at an optimal range just over 500m with mods. Again, full armor except missing 3 on each leg. I've got a 1.43 K/D ratio with it, and improving - and manage around 400-600 damage on a normal round and have gone as high as 712 damage with it.

Any idea why your link only opens blank page saying "This web page is not available"?
Could you update the link perhaps?
Thanks!

With 18 pinpoint pulse laser damage and streaks, it's still an effective light duelist, but you must use cover and clever piloting to hide your legs when possible to perform up to par with the Jenners and Firestarters. If you are not already using the full throttle and invert throttle key bindings, do it now, as you need them to maximize your agility. Gone are the days when this mech was effective at scouting by itself with only ECM to protect it; keeping your team within range to at least bait enemies into is very important now. Clan laser barf and pinpoint cannon spam can make your legs very red in less than a second, so making careful approaches is key to piloting this mech.
The dual ERLLAS build is something I don't use on this mech; I much prefer it on the tiny jumpjetting profile of the ecm covered 5D Spider.

I haven't settled on a final build but this is doing me well enough for getting to elite. Very nearly there. No streaks for me my Streakmando does that job.

Ok thanks, much better! Looks like a nice build - props for the tag! I always tend to carry it on most of my mechs for support and easy c-bill boost.
Don't have 3L yet, but this looks like a build I would run with. Just need to master my locusts first.

XL255, 1 er large laser, 2 medium laser, 2 srm4 with 2 tons of ammo.
somethign that works very well with an opportunistic playstyle. stay inside or near the own team, give ecm cover to them, use the er large laser and jump out of cover to smash already cracked up enemies.
you just gotta be careful since it doesnt have the best speed or armor but 700+ damage or 5 kills are not a problem with that thing. ist still fast enough to do some scouting, just dont run away from your team

i am weird and liked it stock-ish with more armour, but 2ML a tag and an SRM4 and SRM6 were also a staple winner for me. (i even used a 175 STD engine, but then i am not normal, they tank damage well though)
