The Raven has been one of my favorite chassis since beta, but its usage has really changed a lot over the years. Before the clan patch, I would run it as my preferred light duelist with 3 SPLAS and 2 SSRM2, but the usability of that build went away very suddenly with the(very uncalled for) IS SSRM damage nerf and the introduction of the high range, high damage clan tech. The 3L is still a very good, effective chassis, but I've had to shift the balance of its power heavily towards the lasers in order to keep it competing with other lights. These days I run 3 MPLAS, 2 SSRM2, with caution given for its crunchy legs, and armor cleverly shaved to house 1.5 tons of ammo as follows:
RVN-3L
With 18 pinpoint pulse laser damage and streaks, it's still an effective light duelist, but you must use cover and clever piloting to hide your legs when possible to perform up to par with the Jenners and Firestarters. If you are not already using the full throttle and invert throttle key bindings, do it now, as you need them to maximize your agility. Gone are the days when this mech was effective at scouting by itself with only ECM to protect it; keeping your team within range to at least bait enemies into is very important now. Clan laser barf and pinpoint cannon spam can make your legs very red in less than a second, so making careful approaches is key to piloting this mech.
The dual ERLLAS build is something I don't use on this mech; I much prefer it on the tiny jumpjetting profile of the ecm covered 5D Spider.
