Lets have a look at the biggest realistically possible alphas shall we?

Direwolf Gauss + laser vomit: 2xC-Gauss, 2xCLPL, 4xCERML = 84 point alpha, 54 of it spreadable over 1s. Slowest mech.
Timberwolf laser vomit: 5xCERML+2xCLPL = 61 points, more than 1 second beam duration to spread the damage.
Timberwolf SRM/Laser: 4xSRM6+A, 4xCERML = 76 points, 48 of it spread. very hot.

King Crab Splat edition: 2xAC20, 4xSRM4, 4xML = 94.4 point alpha, 34.4 points spread, insanely hot, very slow
Atlas S Splat edition: AC20, 4xML, 4xSRM6+A = 91.6 point alpha, 51.6 spread.

No one is pinpointing you with 90 point alphas, i dont think any mech gets close to being able to aplha that without relying on quad SRMs which means hes standing right in your face. Dont hug atlai?

No, stock builds are useless because:
  • LRMs are unreliable
  • SRMs don't do anything better than lasers, let alone ACs, PPCs, and Gauss rifles.
  • Using mixed loadouts requires more time to apply damage thus increases exposure time thus lose to boating which have no counters right now (like reflective armor, reactive armor, hardened armor, less dammaging but more common ammo explosions, proper heat scale).

Still summarizes into because: "PGI"

By driving a Locust its dead before the whole alfa 36 hits point in the center with no back armor.

You don't.

If PGI did something about PPFLD alphas, or the ability to reliably one-shot most of the 'mechs in the game, they are afraid of all the crying on the forums by all of the self-proclaimed great players who rely on that tactic to do well.

Many of them might just leave and go back to CoD...

What is you view on close? 200m? because any mech you listed would strip the Ct off most mechs with one alpha. You might get lucky if you're 100% armor and you didn't get shot by your own team on the way to the fight :P We're still talking about 1 to 3 shot kills.

For the last year all they have done is increase firepower with clans and quirks.

You dont...

PGIs bloated Heat, Armor, and Ammo mechanics have made sure that you don't combat the Alpha Strike Metagame. Its also part of the reason stock builds are so terrible, as with fixed mechanics they could keep pace at killing with other mechs. The difference being the mechs with more hardpoints/tonnage could fight at multiple ranges effectively.

the alpha strike meta is just the most easy one to play, there are others (lights like locusts strike from behind and evade return fire) and the DPS (daka) mechs, they are mutch harder to do well in but when you do you will outpreforme the alpha meta by a load.
example (build and if u scroll down a bit u will see a screen shot with a 1.52 win ratio for over 400+ matches (only pug) ;

a link to a build with a 98 pinpoint alpha, and it will be able to alpha 2x in a row on most maps

You combat it by being the first one to fire off a 90+ alpha

because thats what this game has degraded into

Yeah, really....its kinda why if or when we get PVE, no matter how simple, I will play it forever. Townhall said at first it might just be Helicopters, turrets and infantry....I will shoot thousands of each of them then.

Time to kill is WAY to fast. All russ looks at is how long the games take to end. He doesn't even care most people are now hiding 95% of the game and only really shooting 5%.
THANK YOU. And Russ needs to realise this. I feel like the game would be so much improved if TTK was addressed.

You don't. A 90 damage alpha is the endgame.

To anyone who said "torso twist", please suck my Locust.
