PVE Content

I can't see how a game can survive without pve content, leveling and such.. typical grind levels.. Does MWO have pve content?
I know I'm asking this having bought the legendary founders pac.. doesn't stray from my desire to play it.. just wondering about the entire scope.

Furthermore there is leveling and experience yes, but not in the way you might think.
Grinding yourself to max level won't give you a huge advantage that nobody can overcome. Just 10% better heatsinks for example at such high levels.
Maybe 10-12% higher maximum speed....stuff like that.

I am constantly amazed at people who think PvP isn't that common or successful. It's the natural order of things, and while those that lose consistently and horribly may quit there are tons of people who thrive on the challenge.

Sadly they haven't said anything about such though so I doubt the game is going to ship with any kind of PvE content oncesoever. All they've said is "We'll consider it after release". One thing at a time, I suppose.

Decades? Doubt it. But it will be very popular for at least a decade to come, especially if they keep adding new Mechs, weapons, and maps as the timeline goes forward.

PvP only I'm afraid (although it may be an option in the future but not at launch).
However, I can assure you that plenty of games survive very well without PvE - look at League of Legends or Tribes: Ascend they are closer approximation for how things will work in terms of game design than a traditional MMO which I'm guessing is what you're thinking of.

And, of course, to visualize the whole, beautiful star map

Indeed it is, unless they are very stupid and will just march in to die. But either way it is worth it and would be fun. I could think of tons of scenario Co Op missions... but I don't need to, as you could just rip them out of MW 4 Mercs. Attack a base, defend a base, attack a convoy, defend a convoy, etc.

Fyi League of Legends has Co Op. In fact there's 2 different maps for it and with 2 different difficulty settings. The enemy bots are also well coded to use around 45 different heroes. They are also rather challenging for new players, proving the success of the mode. Just thought I'd put those facts out there.

Well seeing as even most single player games dont have a good AI. I would say it is not one of the easiest feats done. Most bots have to cheat in some way to be competitive with human players.
But i really would like to see some coop missions too.

I find this to be an addictive play style and I like the 15min or so intervals between breaks, it does lack in persistence and the feel of overall scope. I, like you want to feel like I am in the Inner Sphere, not just blowing people away on the same random maps over and over again.
WoT has "Clan Wars" which is a strategic meta game that adds some persistence to this. I could see something like that developing after the game gets started.
We shall see....but speculation is fun :-)

Check World of tanks, u grind in pvp battles for credits, and experience, that let you purchase new weapons and/or tanks (in this case, Mechs) that then u play to upgrade and get anothers ones etc etc etc.
Its the same grind as allways, just is managed in a different way than on PvE games.

It's not that I don't want the PvP to be as good as it can be... I just want both. I'm the kind of guy that enjoys both PvP content and PvE content in my MMO. There's no rules stating that you can't.
