.. what's the harm in units training folks to help them master their mechs? Sure, some folks may abuse it but I think it would be more good than harm in the long term. The community/social interface in this game is horribly lacking so adding some additional dynamic/incentive to use private drops to help units master up their mechs would be a good thing.

We picked up a couple noobs and when they drop with the group in competitive play it feels like ELO is especially brutal to them.

Not suggesting GXP or cash .. only mech XP.

No, because people then would farm mech XP with friends to master their mechs. This is too exploitable.

hy lemme just drop in my mech vs those 12 people max armor assaults and totally strip-destroy their mechs, and gather how many XP? 10k+ or maybe 20k because first match of the day.

how about no.

this would just make the game borderline P2W.

Pay for Premium time.
group drop.
mine XP to death.
Perfectly maxed out mech with no effort.

especially when they get around to reworking the skill system

How is it an exploit to level up your mechs?

Frankly, I grow weary of the 12 man random drops. This game needs more structure. It's one big cluster muck.

Allowing units to drop and practice with worthwhile gains will provide of a bit of stability in a game that's pure chaos. Being a newb in this game is tough. It's a way for folks to get skilled up for the standard queues.

you can already train your friends in private matches
then they can go out and earn their xp for them selves

if they do not earn it , they will not appreciate it and the game will die off faster for them

exploiting your way forward does not make you a good pilot and will only land you further into frustration when you are driving a fully mastered mech but still get killed by everything

if you have a pilot that needs training the best thing you can do is put them in a hunchback and get them to master it completely
a hunchback will teach you everything you need to know about this game

sorry, but NEVER going to happen. People would just drop in with friends, get quick kills to farm XP and cheat the system. Thats not in any way fun at all.

Good point naduk but...who honestly cares about xp n stuff? You do the same thing every match, the so called clan wars has already been abandoned by a majority of the players, I've only played one match in it and it was a 12 vs 0 we simply blew up the main gun in the middle of the map and it only took over 20 minutes to get too that point...game is so broken.

Just give everyone all the clan mechs for free now and all the IS mechs and just let everyone go too town on it, no more needing currency just play it how you always wanted to play it.

Like going back to the mechwarrior 4 days.

Oh and give refunds to those who bought the clans.

XP farming is going to break the game? When most folks who play regularly have 200K exp in mechs just sitting there.... helping some folks get a leg up on their pilot skills isn't going to change the dynamics of the game much but it WILL help them get started and that's the point.

Well at that point they might as well start selling people mech XP.

Just buy GXP like everyone else.
If PGI offered XP for premium time, assuming 2 players played for 24, the rate would be ridiculously low.

Too easy to exploit...I think not.

it's not only mastery of those mechs... in fact you create a way to farm GXP - And gettin' GXP for free is not the way PGI earns money, they want you to convert them for MC.

So it won't happen.
