A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO PGI FOR LISTENING TO WHAT THE MECHWARRIORS WANTED IN THIS GAME, CAROLE FOR HER SERVICES AND PERFORMANCE TO GIVE THIS GAME THAT LITTLE EXTRA SOMETHING THAT MAKES IT 10X BETTER & LAST BUT NOT LEAST EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU WHO VOTED AND WANTED THIS I SAY THANK YOU AND NOW OUR MECHWARRIOR GAME IS COMPLETE AND NOW IS A WORTH CONTENDER TO STAND ALONG SIDE MECHWARRIOR TITLES GONE PAST

LET THE NOSTALIGIA BEGIN

The last and most important part of the update is the addition of *******’ Betty. The team at Piranha went out and got the original voice actor for *******’ Betty, Carol Ruggier, to come back and do tons of voice work for the character. She first made her appearance in Mech Warrior 2 and has become a legend among fans of the series. The *******’ Betty voice interface can be turned off if you want, as it is optional. However, if you are a fan there is a lot more to come in terms of VO work. Russ apologized that her famous start up sequence is not in yet, but it will be. Still, this is just Phase 1 for *******’ Betty and they have a lot planned for the voice of your mech. Also, she does work in real time with combat, so she will tell you if you have critical damage or enemies detected, rockets locked, and so forth.

BTW, the voice sample in the trailer is from Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries, which apparently is not her. Pitchforks anyone? ;P

On a serious note though, I've alwys regarded the announcer/s of Q3 and UT as some of the most entertaining.
Extra kudos for UT to provide both a male and female version, although it is debatable whether the latter is intended to be either helpful or distracting/hilarious xDDD

I want her back! Caroles voice in MW2 was awesome, especially in the Jade Falcon intro. Sometimes i hear a silent "Reactor online, weapons online, all systems nominal" in my head when i start my car

I voted for the demo one, as she sounded perfectly OK to me (sounded like it might have been the same woman, to be honest).

I'd like the MW2 one if possible, but not at the expense of anyone they've already hired - it wouldn't be fair.

Not the same actress ive talked to her if you read the Facebook snippet she says its not her and also im sure everyone will agree in the Trailer the voice say "All Systems Online Not Nominal" and this sits uncofortably with most people who grew up playing the original Mechwarrior games for this to be the next True Mechwarrior game it must stick to tradition while still embracing new technology

But it's not JUST about the voice. The spacing and pauses in the phrases have to be kept, too!

Which is why Carole is so perfect for the job as her attention to detail made her so memorable and loved her voice work so much from Mechwarrior 2

Yes you are right Carole was credited for Mech 2 and GBL not Mercs also remeber she said The Planet, Temp, local time & Systems nominal during the startup in Mech 2

Also

Ive spoken to her today and said "lets hope PGI gets in touch with you" and she said "I'm here!"
Meaning if they want her she's available if we can generate enough interest to show PGI we want this they may get the ball rolling heres hoping anyway
