good buy, great mech, not as op as the timber, but a solid machine and 6sxrm 6 suicide dancong builds are laods of fun.

but even in serious gameplay it's a solid machine.

yeah it was probably me.
Been running 2xMPL + 3xSL + 2xSRM6 + 4xLRM5.
You and 2 kingcrabs trying to make your way up that big hill on the right, and me and a beat up teamate came charging down that hill, your torso's were all red, I got one of them and overheated then the crabs walked in and dakka dakka'd me?

nah wasnt you then, but the Maddog I destroyed did overheat! Those suckers do run hot!

If the Gargoyle-Prime was any indication.... I'm pretty sure I know what that means...

Anyways, I took a look over the tonnage after max armor for omnipods...

~15.5 tons for the Nova
~23 tons for the Stormcrow (magical - due to Endo+FF despite large engine)
~23.5 tons for the Hellbringer
~21 tons for the Summoner
~27.5 tons for the Timberwolf (based on the Prime)
~20 tons for the Gargoyle

~26 tons for the Maddog

For the labrat/minmaxer in me... that is actually kinda ridiculous and it's not even benefiting from Endo.

However, it is somewhat fragile... so... I'll have to be a bit more creative in this process.

I like to include heatsinks as bonus tonnage, which while build Dependant is important.

Like most Clan mechs do....

They really do need good trigger discipline, and a good knowldge of when to go whole hog on someone.

I kinda want a Mad Dog, would prolly swap the stock prime for 4ML, increase armor and then ammo for the LRM20..maybe increase it to Art 4s....but meh, LRMs seem really hit and miss...

It looks aight in MWO. If it squat more, had a longer CT, and had longer lasers it would look like the Mad Dog I know and loved so much viewing it in it's MW2 blocky form at a whole 5 years old. Idk why I thought it looked so awesome, but it did.

The currnet MWO model has grown on my a lot, same for the TImber Wolf, they just feel right to me... don't get me wrong, I love the old art work for them, but these MWO versions just feel right. And they look like they can support their own weight too now...

thats what many pilots on clanside truly lack. lazßr doggy has quite a lot heatsinks and 2 LPL + 3 ML is a well working build.

Which R, are you feeling.

Relief, or regret?

Well when I can figure out where my shoulders keep disappearing to, I'll let ya know.

Is there a hitbox pass coming down the road for this thing?
LOL?

Just woke up, read topic title as "McMad Dog", and was about to ask if it came with fries.

To be fair, the Mad Dog only has 2 engine heatsinks while the Summoner has 4 and 5 tons of jump jets.

But you really want to max the armor on the Summoner even though it doesn't make an even ton, so I'd say it only has 20.5 tons free. Your legs get shot to hell all the time in that mech, must have something to do with the walking animation, since the Hellbringer has the same legs, but stands up straighter.

If you're not vomiting the righteous fury of short range missiles upon your enemies, your dog is nowhere near mad enough.

while true, Is Energyweapons are cool enough to not result in an epic fail moment if you are impatient. but with a clanmech this cna already happen at the second or even 3rd volley. depending on what ghost heat does to the build.

Might be because I don't have it Elited yet, anything I run on it gets really hot, really fast.

I still think it could use a hitbox pass on it, something to balance out how easily the torso's get knocked out.

Just look at all that surface area for the LT/RT ,its almost impossible to twist out damage at least to your CT which is the most armored section.

These are the screens that Russ had posted for it, you can see pretty clearly that those hitboxes are huge for the Torso's and the CT only has that little strip right in the center.

I like the current hitboxes. The Mad Dog is actually very durable. I will take it over a big CT any day of the week.

Durable for a 60 ton mech without quirks I mean.

Good solid mech with plenty of options. My MDD-Prime is built with versatility in mind and it's consistently a good performer. Specialized builds boating LRM/SRM launchers are also a lot of fun but they can be trickier depending on the situation.
