Just wondering in the game, if your mech is damaged, is it possible to go back for repair?

or pick up ammo drops/ healt drops etc.

just remembering in mech 3, u can call out repair trucks which was pretty fun.. and i thk in mech 4, there are repair/ reload hangers.

will those be implemented in the game?

cant wait!

I thought I had read somewhere where repairs wouldn't be allowed during combat. I don't remember if it was a dev blog or a user's post.

But if the game is going to be as 'real' of a simulator as possible, I don't think there will be as the matches are short and it takes sometime to get a mech reloaded or repaired.

I think it would be a cool game type if you could repair armor... It would add some length and strategy to certain types of games if you could run away spend some time repairing and come back to the battle.

repair bays in a nuetral area, and you can fight for control of it thatd be cool. but i can see it being overpowered as well

They've already said no repairs, no respawn. Once you're dead, you're dead. Or if you're in the drop-ship game mode, once you're out of 'Mechs, you're out of 'Mechs.

They haven't said on reload stations, but I'd bet a hefty sum of C-Bills they won't be making an appearance.

Yea i'm against this idea. The point is to be more simulation then arcade. Also since they have stated that after a match you ether repair or (less likely) don't repair your mech using C-Bills I doubt there will be repair stations. If there were I would just make sure i'm near the repair platform at the end of the match so my repair bill will be less( which would be totally lame)

Yeah I guess it does not go with their business model but you could make it so you could just replace armor and not fix internal damage and components... that would be canonically correct as well I think.

Mechwarrior Mario Kart- Dropships will drop colored supply boxes marked with a ?, run your mech over these to gain a random weapon or speed boost! Just don't let your mechs balloons get popped!

On a serious note, as nice as that would be to have in game, I think it will be better without in game repair/re load. It will make people (hopefully) play a bit more tactically, make you think more about ammo and damage without the repair/reload to fall back on.

I think it would actually make people play a little more tactically to know that you can limp away and repair your mech... Of course I would not want it to be a pick up style situation but more a slower process that would not be so arcade style... and only armor repair... Which I mentioned... oh and of course it would need to be a specific game type style like dropship were you have a limited number of mechs.

Ammo reloads on base defense, I'm kinda OK with - but you'd be shut down for the duration in a known location and it'll take MINUTES for the ammo to be reloaded... if you want to be a sitting duck in exchange for ammo, no problem here (and no instant powering up - once you request it, there'd be a delay while the ground crew close up the ammo bins and get clear, at which point you can start powering up). This would be a small reward for a well-defending team to be able to get a bit more ammo into their side and encourage people to keep the front line as far from your base as possible. In the canon, there are instances of mechs being reloaded in the field (coolant replacement too).

Repair? Nah... not enough time and would be just too cheesy.

Yeah I agree with this, but I still think it would make a interesting game type

I think the option to repair the mech in the field is just outright wrong. And while I always loved how you could call for a support chopper in Steel Battallion I think it would be a bad idea for this game overall. That would greatly favor the missile boat build. A large part of the game should be preparing your mech for the battle and managing your ammunition during the battle. Neither should be in the game, but if you can do one you pretty much have to be able to do the other (to counterbalance).

Imo I think it would still work better if people knew once they were out of ammo for that AC 20, for example, they couldn't use it any more that game. That said, I could get on board with that option being a different game mode which is not a bad idea.

exactly, if they want any form of "realism" (talking about giant walking tanks here! LOL) it takes 15mins to swap a wheel on a car... NO DAMAGE. how long is each match again?

I thought we all agreed not to acknowledge the existence of the series that shall not be named.
