If you read the FAQ, you'll find :
Q. Can I get out of the Mech?

A. Will you be able to get out of the Mech? No. One of our gameplay design pillars is that we are putting you in the role of the pilot (MechWarrior®) in a first person perspective.

This implies either no ejection scheme will be in the game, or that ejection means the end of play for the duration of that match. How do we feel about this? I always thought you should be able to walk around on foot with a radio to call in observations like a real pilot can.

Thats because your mechwarrior won't die in this game so there is no need to eject. I suspect you'll be able to go back to your garage to pick another mech for a new match.

I'd like to see ejection = your done with the match, but your 'Mech isn't considered destroyed if the game implements permanent destruction of 'Mechs and equipment.

I dont think it implies you cant eject, to me its saying you cannot get out of your mech and walk around.
I would of assume your game would be over when you eject just like in every other mechwarrior game so no big deal there. Unless it is respawn or you can come back in another mech of course, which I would not be in favour of.

It is my assumption, based on the recently revealed video with commentary by MWO staff, that ejection WILL be possible, even with a cool animation to go with it, but that it will ultimately mean nothing since the pilot cannot permanently die.

I hope there's a point to ejecting, like to preserve XP, because ejecting without the possibility of doing anything afterward seems like a waste of programming time.

What video? Did I miss something?

As far as ejecting goes, wandering about outside your mech never even occurred to me as an option. Ejection will probably exist in game as a way of escaping with some measure of your mech intect, I would imagine.

Or just because ejecting from an exploding mech is explosive fun. either way, I wouldn't want to wander around afterwards.

Ejecting out of a critical condition mech IS part of a pilot's first person experience, and thus, does fit with the pillar of being the mechwarrior.

The entire point of that paragraph was to describe actually getting out of your mech and walking around, something ejecting does not equate to.
