I wonder how many different we are allowed to ad, so one for the unit, and one personal for the Pilot, that ould be awesome. and since they said for user submitted stuff they charge MC, 2 different means 2x mC for PGI xD

Mmm, beautiful.

I really appreciate this thread, I do wish we had custom decals, standard decals, inverse kinematics and many other things we lost over the years. I watched a video from CB yesterday and it was depressingly beautiful to watch.

However, the extremely ugly damage textures are a huge turn-off. People spend hours tinkering in the Mechlab to find the exact colours that reflect their vision of each individual mech. But from a distance, that beautiful mech with the elaborate colour scheme just looks like a dark grey blob. And 2 minutes into the game, a Locust with small lasers will strip your mech of all paint in a single alphastrike, leaving only the abomination you see pictured above.

The only people who will really be able to appreciate your custom decals, are the 1-2 players who spawn directly behind you. They'll notice it for the first 5 seconds of the match. That's it. They need to fix the ugly damage textures when they introduce decals.

and this is the entire point, we want out mechs to look like our mechs in out mechlab. It is more for the self purpose than for showing it off to the opponent.

That was from a single Alpha from a Locust? I'm calling shenanigans Alistair. :huh:

The real question we should be asking is: Why has the Direwolf on that pic feet with IK turned on when it was turned off long before the Clans were introduced?

Most likely the screenshot is not taken in game per se. More like a suite/tool that allows you to load a map, place a mech and pose it in the desired position with a free camera so that marketing can easily get its neat pictures. If that's the case, you can probably pose each mech joint however you like since physics aren't at play.

But looking cool doesn't make the games shortfalls go away sadly. So my wallet cant open

At first I thought the OP was talking about the Awesome, and all I could think was 'why did they pick such a bad picture? There's plenty of screens where it looks awesome'.

That said, I could go for some decals.

That screenshot was an pgi internal screenshot provided to advertise the clan packages. one theory is that they turned on IK for that

as far as i know, only the custom ones are MC only. the lore ones may be LP only

The only way my wallot will ever open again is if they add a decent story into this game, not some half assed one but one like in the reveal trailer. Interesting characters, a great story with some decent drama....will never happen though so guess will just have to wait until the whales decide that they are done giving money.

Yep, several Mechs lost their custom animation when PGI disable the inverted Kinematics.
