Ingame, they look very much alike, compared to older games. Why is that? It has the same stubby/fat legs of the DW, same with arms and large part of the torso. The warhawk should be much slimmer, especially considering it's 15 tonnes lighter.

It's in need of a rescale imo, make the legs and arms thinner, and give them long barrels.Torso/head shouldn't be as wide and big as a DW's.

It's a hawk, not a whale!

Clans reusing the same parts/moulds/whatever as to be more economical or efficient. Timber Wolf/Mad Dog, Kitfox/Adder, Stormcrow/Nova, Summoner/Hellbringer. And PGI used the technical blueprints to design the MW:O versions.

So there's your reasoning. Whether it's a good idea is another question. Honestly I just wish they'd improve the animations on those two 'Mechs, right now they're pretty dismal.

Seems like the Arms of hte MWO Warhawk shouldnt dangle so low.......I mean, just the images in the OP show it holding its arms up a bit more. Would help the ST issue the WHK has.

Not to mention the much longer barrels and sleeker torso!

Just look at it's profile

Ingame it's currently as wide as a DW which makes is look so much heavier than it should be for a 85 tonner

They seemed to have reused some of the geometry that could be a reason why. The part of the reason why the Warhawk is much less popular than the Dire is that it's as big as the Dire while being 15 tons lighter. PGI really needs to pay attention to scaling and surface area. My mouth starts watering when I see one, because all I see is a big and helpless cookie.

Those proportions look quite similar to the Stormcrow's. If the MWO model wasn't so large (it's basically the same size as the whale) and its arms weren't as low slung like the above model, the Whawk would be an awesome assault - probably a tier 2 atleast when you couple it with its speed.

Yeah, really....it should be slimmed down a little bit, and defs given the big ass long guns. It just plain looks wrong with it using those stubby lasers. Hell, my dad has a desktop background where the Stormcrow has longer laser pods, basically the ones we have now, only about 4x as long. Why cant we get those? Mad Dog needs the long barrels to.

Though, that model looks a little to skinny...almost like that is a medium mech or something.

Yeah, really....

Warhawk should have shorter arms, longer guns and an overall more narrow and slightly shorter self. The DireWolf should be about the side of the current Warhawk. Then take the Atlas and slim it down and cut it down a meter or 2 and it would be good.

For sure this game could use a massive rescaling of alot of mechs.

Lol, the warhawk would be tier 1 just from looking so damn cool if it was remade to look like the real warhawk.

that hood on the DW and WHk should magically add +20 to each the L,C,R Torsos and 10 to the internals. Since we cant have it be a magical shield from LRM fire hitting the torsos below it, which im sure that is what is was for...to prevent damage from air strikes and top down attacks....

Interesting idea, and I'd also like to add quirks tied to the use of targeting computers, considering it's place in the lore.

Nope, it should be it's own hit box of armour and internals... same for the poor Adder, no-one ever thinks about the Adders...

Easy reasoning here OP.

PGI: Ok someone copy and paste the DW. Ok great, now give it this loadout. Ok now print the $ we just made.

It's a self-esteem thing. Poor Warhawk. If the Adder could make itself look more like a Stormcrow, it would, too.
