Seriously though... until they manage to separate the functionality of the lock on mechanism between Streaks and LRMs... this will continue indefinitely.

Unlike what some people claim though, this hardly constitutes abuse.

Yep! Sometimes I look at the price tag and go, "Eh...I think I can manage without Artemis on this build..."
Frankly, I only use Artemis if I have at least three launchers. That goes for every missile system.

Aside from Hot Hot Hot, it seems everything important is there.
Actuators would be nice, but not essential, I suppose.
Wait....that leg armour! NEVER do that. Max it out; remove something unnecessary.

Yes, everything. Wow. 30 armor on legs? 8 armor on the head? Do you want to suicide rush into the enemy, or what? Frontload your armor, full or nearly full armor on Timby legs is imperative, and your head needs more as well.
4 ERML are more than enough, and you absolutely need that arm actuator to fight lights. Way too much heat as well.

Three weapon groups, right arm, torso and streaks. I've seen this way too often, people loading a crapload of clan lasers shooting all of them in chain. That's BS.

Downgrade your Streaks to 4 packs, up-armor your mech, move some equipment around, add lower arm actuators.

Artemis is not supposed to affect Streaks (which is why there are not "Artemis" labeled Streak weapons) but it still does.
It's important to understand what Artemis does for different missile systems, though, because its effects are not always the same.
For SRMs: Artemis gives your missiles a tighter grouping.
For LRMs: Artemis enables you to achieve lock-on faster AND gives your missiles a tighter grouping (but only if you have direct Line of Sight to your target).
For Streaks: Artemis does not affect "grouping" at all, but because the game uses the same code for Streak lock-on as it does for LRM lock-on, equipping Artemis on a streak-mech will enable you to achieve lock-on for your Streaks faster than you normally would.
Call it a bug, call it an exploit, call it a "feature" - but it's been in the game since Artemis was a thing, the devs are well aware of it, and haven't done anything about it.

Try this:

PS: I came across a stalker who apparently thought it would be ok to strip almost all armor from his legs (could tell by targeting him). So I alpha striked him twice in my Locust and killed him. That's right, my Locust. So careful with that leg armor.
