I have 106 mechs, their names are serial numbers indicating readiness status, equipment and tech level. And even that is difficult to fit in the ridiculously small text field provided.

Ironically enough I call my Cicada 3M= CDA-3M, My Hunchback 4G= HBK-4G, and so on.

I call them mechs. As opposed to the ppl here who call them robots

Also; I stopped naming them once I realized I was the only one who saw it -.-

I name mine after Transformers.

IS mechs are Autobots.
Clan mechs are Decepticons.

The best is when I can get close to the color scheme. And when I have a few variants of same chassis and can name them after the cheap clone TFs. Ahh the 80s.

My Nova Prime is named NVA-Prime. My Kit Fox A is named KFX-A. You can probably guess all the rest.

I am a bit cliche in naming mine after various mythological figures.

My current roster is a King Crab (Neptune), Jager (Heimdall), Thunderbolt (Wotan), Cent (Aurora), Shadowhawk (Diana), Raven (Muninn), 2 Firestarters (Hermes and Mercury), Phract (Erebus), and a BattleMaster (Lucifer).

There's been a couple threads on this down in the Barracks, though none of them have been active recently.

My Clan mechs I usually name for their Inner Sphere call signs. For example, my Mad Dog B is named Vulture B. Most of my Heroes are also named for the hero designator.

Battlemasters: LightShow (1G[P]), CannonFist (1D), Hilda (1S), LightShow II, (3M), Showgirl (3S)

King Crab 0000 - JohnZoidberg

Highlander 733 - The Beast

Orion M - Koh (Named after the evil spirit Koh the Facestealer from the Last Airbender series, because the build owned faces.)

Catapult C1 - Rakshasa (The build resembles the Rakshasa from Technical Readout 3055.)
Catapult Jester - Jack Napier (The Joker's name from the old Keaton/Burton Batman.)

WVR-6K - Ghost (Named for being bright white, yet seemingly people don't seem to notice it.)

Shadowhawk 2D - Shadowlander (Champion Highlander guns shoehorned into a Shadowhawk.)

Centurions - The Shark (AL) and Soul of Cent (the Champion I got for free, stripped off the gear from y old CN9-A and sold it, but felt bad, so...)

Firestarter K - SpoilSport (Because its KDR was significantly better than its W/L.)

Dire Wolf B - Swamp Thing (basic green/invasion green polygon camo)

Warhawk A - BlueBerry (blue/purple/black polygon camo)

Gargoyle - LumnoVomito (D, 6xERML), BerryNCream (A, blue/blue/white paintjob makes it look like blueberry ice cream.)

Mad Dog A - Rib Knife (Makes a great knife between the ribs, a 100 point Alpha to the back tends to end people.)

Kit Fox D - Poison Arrow (Polygon black/orange makes it look like a poison arrow frog, also jumps and has 30 LRMs.)

Loyalty Reward Mechs - Verdandi, Urdr, Skuld

AS7-D(F) - Anezka - Named after the love interest of Christof Romuald, the vampire from Vampire: The Masquerade, Redemption.
AS7-BH - BD-100 - Named after my favorite character's Exo-suit, Wolf Bronski, from Exo Squad.
AS7-RS - Fastlas - Named so after the 360 STD engine, making it the fastest non-hero Atlas in my collection.
AS7-D-DC - Shotgun Angel - Named after the Night Core remix of the song "Angel with a shotgun" based on weapon loadout.
AS7-S - One Winged - Named after Sepheroth's final form from Final Fantasy VII.
DWF-B - Dakkashi - Named after ballistic loadout that it supports.
DWF-Prime - Metashi - Named after dual Gauss, Dual PPC loadout that it supports.
DWF-A - Lurmashi - Named after the C-LRM 20 loadout that it supports.
TBR-S - White Glint - Named after the Armored Core piloted by the hero from Armored Core 4, in Armored Core 4: Answer. Paint job is all white.
VTR-9S(C) - Tory. It's a Victor who is named Tory... Victory... get it?
VTR-9B - Vector - Named after "What's your Vector, Victor?" from the movie comedy "Airplane".
VTR-DS - Castor - Named so due to the meta build of Gauss PPC.
JR7-O - Veritech - Named after the original Veritech fighters from Robotech/Macross due to all missile loadout.
JR7-F - Sleepy - Named so due to the fact it overheats very easily with six medium lasers.

All other mechs I have currently are unnamed.

Hence why I want them to put in the Longbow XD

All my mechs are given "Orky" names. Ead Kicka, Ead Smasha, Skull Busta, etc. Thought of using Eldar names, since that is the 40k army I use, but screw messing with pretend alphabets for names. Plus, orky names are just more fun. I also paint all my mechs green and purple, G1 constructicon style. Not very effective at warding off missles though....

I use their original designation (e.g. FS9-K) followed by a name with the last letter in their designation.
For example:
FS9-K Knight
FS9-H Hunter

It gets real tricky due to the 12 letter limit.

I wish PGI would let us have 2 lines of 12 letters. You notice we can already press 'enter' when naming a mech. But only one line of text will show up. If we could have 2 lines of 12 letters, you could do stuff like
"CPLT-K2 / XL315" or "CPLT-K2 / Stock build" or even "Stock STD260 / Trg info + 360 " to display more information without clicking or hovering your mouse over every mech.

In Wolf Bronsky's evaluation, the psych-tech concluded that inside Bronsky, there was a shy, frightened little boy. Beside that, somebody wrote "Yeah, because Bronsky ate him."

Most of mine are either default or what their load out is (especially for clan mechs).

"7x MPLs" or "4x CERLLAS", etc.

My Warhawks are named

Claw: This is actually the nickname given to Republic Lord-Legionnaire Fandragon's Kodiak, a really childish nickname, based on the mech's claws.

Firestorm: Its actually a name given to a Direwolf piloted by a KRL mechwarrior. But since I dont have a DWF......

Slam Hammer: I honestly dont know where this name came from....

My Stormcrow is named Ankle Biter, cuz its nippin at ur heels, but nothin else.

My AS7-S is named Nobalist, after a KRL mechwarrior who kinda upholds Paladin ideals and morals and stuff....This mech, along side the AH is sitting stripped in the hangar.
