Came back, was glad to see a free CN9-AH in my stable. Then I realized it was armed with an AC20 and not a laser pointer. And the missile hardpoints across the board... O____. Did the art team die when I was gone?

Always thought that was a down right hideous mech anyway....it and alot of the Jade Falcon bird mechs...alongside the Hellstar and Missed Linx

1. The old CenT-Arm is still in the game.
Go to Training-Grounds,
find a Centurion
blast his arm of.
The arm falling to the ground is the OLD model.

2. I do understand that weapons needs to be standardized to some extend.
But:
A: the current models looks more like something the Clans had developed for their Omni-mechs (as the have standardized Weapons by default, so all of them could fit on any mech)
B: the do not look all true to what they are supposed to be (Raven-Laser-Arms, i am looking at you; so am i at you, Warhawk!)


Also, why not take into account, that the actual weapons might be covered with armor plating, too ?
Couldn't the PPC on a Catapult K2 be covered in armor, just like the rest of the mech ?
And doesn't the old K2-Arm's just look like that ?

Redesign Lasers,
so they look like long tubes.
See: Raven (old model)
Use what ever model (the square ones or the tube-like once) depending on what would look best on the mech at hand.
For instance, the current models DO look better on Mechs like the Quickdraw or Centurion (my personal opinion).
The old model (tube-like) for sure look better on the Raven.
Edit: on that note, i personally am fine with current arm of the Centurion if it mounts Lasers.
But not for ballistics. Especially the AH-Model when mounting 3 MG's looks... goofy.
For that, use the old arm and try mounting the MG's in a triangular shape, please.

And, while we are at it:
Ultra Auto-cannons.
The do look like huge Gatling guns.
But the point of having multiple barrels is, as far as i know, to allow for a higher fire rate.
And i mean much higher then what we have now.. like the GAU-8/A Avenger.
Or.. at the Rotary AC/5, which will be available in 3062.

But the current models... hmm,. no.. even given the higher rate of fire of the Clan U/AC's ... they do not need multiple barrels.

So, if i were PGi, i would redesign them as well, before the R/AC 5 comes along and... you don't have a unique design for them anymore, because the U/AC's already look like them.

Use downscaled multi-barrel guns for the Machine Guns, please, if you have to.
(Would make the Piranha look WAY more cooler the with the current Mini-Centurion-Arm-Style MG's, btw.)
