Kudos to you for giving us opportunities to win free stuff! Things that would otherwise cost us hard earned dollars. It is much appreciated and I am truly grateful. However, enough is enough. I just purchased 3 hero mechs and every time I try to take them out to level them up, there is some challenge going. These challenges promote pinpoint alpha, LRM spam and arty strike builds to flood the cues. Piloting a basic Misery in these conditions is annoyingly slow and painful.

I'm not saying these players are wrong or that their builds are. I'm just saying it would be nice to have a breather between these challenges. A time where we can prepare for the next onslaught of competitive play. Level up mechs. Train new team mates or just relax and have fun. Thanks guys.

With all these awesome sales and challenges building up our mechbays, I have a feeling a double XP weekend is not too far off. If PGI doesn't have one planned, please do!

There is an absurd amount of people who look the gift horse in the mouth here on these forums. It's insane. Take the free stuff and be grateful.

I ran some pugs last night that your Misery would do just fine and make the points for free MC. 50% of the people are not even affiliated with a clan. A lot of new people out for the free MC.

Please keep giving us challenges as it is something to strive for. Daily's would be awesome!!!!

Sometimes I like the competitive atmosphere. Other times I just want to play a game to relax and goof with friends in a drop. Hard to do when matches during challenges require more concentration and a serious attitude. Losing every match to energy vomit and lrm spam is not relaxing or fun for me nor most of my team mates.

Don't play a competitive FPS if you don't want competition. Simple as that.

I gotta say man, it's ok to not get all challenges. The world will still be there, with all your mechs and stuff.

If you don't get every challenge is fine. It really is.

when you make assists worth more than kills and damage count to your score you get lrm's :)

Pin point alpha is normal for the system they made.

I am of the opinion there should be 24/7 challenges happening

or at least some daily goals to achieve for bonuses beyond "first match double XP"

Wrong game man ya, lol go hit a relaxing game of monopoly if ya wanna relax.
When you goof off in the pug it ruins everyone's game when you die in the first 2 mins of a match.
Go goof off on something else and stop noobing up everyone's time.

Yeah the type of challenge matters. One that encourages selfish play and a long grind is tough (the Cataphract Challenge). This MC Event isn't bad. Take it or leave it as you want. I'm all for it. Thanks PGI.

If anyone can conceive of a challenge that DOESN'T promote some specific type of behavior, I'd love to see it. People will always adapt to whatever challenge is set before them.

This thread will reach 10 pages with knee-jerk responses.

I honestly don't care about this week's challenge. If you get 100 valid matches, you get 2000 MC. That's about ten dollars worth. For 100 valid matches. For the people who think this is a great gift, I'm happy for you.

Me, I'll just ignore this one. And yeah, double XP weekend would have been a nice combo after all the mechs on sale lately. Maybe next time.

This end of the month bonus MC provides the perfect opportunity for me to honour my pledge to praise PGI throughout the month of January 2015.

Thank you once again PGI, and, as the Chairman says, "Onward to Final Victory!"

Seriously guys, good stuff, keep it going!

Ok...
lurms are irrelevent unless you are a scrub, also go buy radar derp
High alpha pin point has been meta for nearly forever> everyone uses high alpha pp or ppfld all the time, builds and meta haven't changed just for the tourny , where have you been all this time?
Arty is basically compulsory equipment> again everyone takes it regardless of tourny.

business a usual in mwo

Cept you really only need 7 assists in this event to get the rewards, so high pinpoint alphas are actually discouraged by this event where it's more effecent to spread the weapons around.

Other than that point you made the rest is reasonable, oh, that was your only point.

Like he said.
Challenges to win free stuff is nice.
Challenges that distort how people play are less nice.

Like say making assists worth more than kills...so tons of people are spending more time hiding and trying to get assists with lrms...and not actually playing to win the match...just score points and expect other players to try amd win for them.

If kills and assists gave the same points it would have been far far better. Make both worth 20 and that would have caused far less changes in how people play.

But right now people get penalized for getting the kill basically. ..so you have a reward system that rewards...not killing the enemy vs just doing some damage and then hiding until someone else kills them. Leaving them alove to keep doing damage.

Perverse.
