Months ago, Russ said he approved a NARC indicator, but there was no ETA.

I can go along with this as long as they increase the rewards for the person who is doing the NARC'ing right now its simply a waste of a spot especially on a light.

Having spent the last 4 hours playing my Jenner D with Narc I have come to the conclusion that it is simply not worth it.

Improvements that are needed for it,

1. When you narc a mech and it is targeted and damaged by missles you should get an assist.

2. The bonuses fof XP and C-bills need to be greatly increased.

3. When Narc is active on a mech and NOT under ECM Betty needs to let the company know.

These are not game breaking and will make the use of narc a little easier for mechs.

Thoughts?

If the game didn't automatically share targeting data (Missile locks being possible without Line of Sight) then the NARC and TAG would be immensely more helpful.

I personally would love targetting data to not be shared at all, however a simple target data but no locks would actually give NARC/TAG a LOT more use than it has now as they would be the only way (as well as UAV) to indirect fire LRMs. This would also allow ECM to be tweaked more as a counter-electronics warfare choice instead of the current Guardian/Angel/Active Probe mish mosh we have now.

Thought this thread was going in a different direction. The main improvement needed for NARC is speed. If there is an ounce of lag it is extremely difficult to hit anything with a NARC beacon. Last night I was in a match where I fired point blank at a Thunderbolt from behind and it missed!?

These things should be able to hit out to their effective range, but good luck with that with lag!
