The game is what it is ... give them money to make it better or not ... it is completely up to you.

Variations in latency are usually due to your network connection or the network somewhere between you and the data center. It usually has NOTHING to do with PGI or their game. Even worse than variations is packet loss which can happen with an overloaded router somewhere along the route that drops packets. These have to be resent and dropped packets play havoc with host state rewind and hit registration ... those features work best when the latency is relatively constant ... and don't work very well when your command to fire is lost in the ether. Depending on the network implementation, lost packets can result in desyncs and other effects.

So blame PGI for coding a CPU heavy game requiring a reasonably fast quad core to function well that is less dependent on the video hardware ... but you can't blame them for your bad network connection.

Also ... many of the features folks cite as problems do not seem to be that much of an issue.

- Matchmaking ... much much better than it used to be ... stomps are not the fault of the matchmaker .. they are generally due to player actions and the nature of the game in that it can be difficult to overcome early losses.

- Weapon balance ... much better than it used to be ... the poptart meta is much reduced ... a range of builds now appear to be viable after the Quirkening (even my HBK-4G is now a decent performer ... and it used to be my worst HBK if not my worst medium).

- UI 2.0 is functional though I think it takes too much work ... the work flows need to be better designed ... but at least you can now remove modules by double clicking them even if you can't install them the same way. Hopefully they will eventually fix the glitches and smooth out the workflows. A Smurfy style interface where you can edit all the mech sections at the same time will be preferable if they can ever implement it.

Anyway, the basic game play is still very similar to closed beta .. but overall the game has changed a lot in 2 1/2 years and is generally much better ... which would not be possible without at least some folks kicking in some money :)

So it's been a couple years yet your game continues to have major performance issues. Certainly with growth it's expected but your code is garbage. When I go from a 90 ping to 500 in a manner of a couple drops you would say it's an ISP issue. No so at 300 mb a second and a 20 mb upload. You continue to have memory leaks and or your infrastructure is garbage. You want more money from us fix the basics already. Pissed off customer

Download pingplotter.

https://www.pingplotter.com/

See if there are bad hops to determin if it is PGI, your ISP or a hop some where in between.

A lot of people are reporting ping issues recently. There's something going on and I don't think it's PGI. I'm seeing a lot of threads mentioning Time Warner but I have no idea what Time Warner is and I live in Pennsylania. Getting ping spikes (with rubberbanding) between 300 and 1000 ping when my normal ping is a rather consistent 34ms. Only started recently and didn't coincide with a patch, so I think it has nothing to do with the actual game code.

Yeah I really wish PGI would fix this game. I usually have a 58 ping and get 50-100+ FPS. I can't run around lagging in light mechs and not taking damage like some players. I usually play assaults and heavies because other other players can actually hit my mech when they aim at me.

I see people typing "GL HF" before some matches. I'm pretty sure that means "Good Luck Hitting Firestarters".

I wish PGI would fix it already!

Because they've only been out from under IGP for around half a year and most of the money and progress they made while under IGP was a joke as IGP cared not for making the game better, only if the money kept coming in and the game stayed profitable.

Honestly? Chill out, step the **** back, and give this game and PGI 2015 to see how development and progress goes. In around half a year they got CW up and running in its basic form, nearly 2 full waves of clan mechs out, and another wave of IS, as well as major community communication, a couple maps, and tons of balance and bug fixes (and a whole new mechanic, quirks, which took time to program).

I may not be as jaded as the people who have been here since Closed Beta and such, but a lot of you need to either suck it up and realize what was happening under IGP, or just leave and stop being toxic.

I get 90-130 pending on the match and what not. Consider your machine or slowest network device in the network will set the pace, If you have an awsome ISP and a crap network setup locally you will get crap network speeds plain and simple. I re-worked my network to get nicer speeds to the net.

Lets say you're a cook. A great one. In a very very very busy, overbooked restaurant.

I order a steak. An hour later I ask the waiter, where's my steak. Waiter tells you I'm pissed off, and you quickly rush to cook my steak. And it's probably a damn good steak, but it's also a lil pink in the center.

Meanwhile, I've already got up and left a few minutes ago.

My point was that IGP told them NO on community warfare cause it wasn't profitable for them. In the half a year since they got out from under IGP, they were able to give us the base for CW to be built upon. I know its not the greatest, but I don't think people realize how much say IGP had in what got developed (nor do most people have an idea how much direction publishers have in a developer's project) because otherwise I feel things would be much different than they are now and the game would be a good deal farther along.

I understand CW was promised long ago, but the community needs to think of the time since IGP went defunct as a fresh start, not as a continuation of the time while under IGP. Its not ideal but its the best way to look at this game. Compare the last 6-7 months of progress compared to the last couple years under IGP, its a massive difference in terms of gameplay. The only reason mechs were made under IGP is they could sell them for real money, CW had no sales benefit to them.

Wait, you eat steaks that are well done? HEATHEN.

Medium - Medium Rare all the way, it makes it juicy and tender, with any over cooking not leaving it like charred concrete.

Chess: has a finite number of games. BROKEN
Strongman Competition: they need to tow BROKEN trucks.
Super Tecmo Bowl: is about a sport played by only one nation and they call themselves "world" champions. BROKEN²

So IGP told PGI to devote 6+ months of their time and money to transverse?

Getting this "retrieving rewards..." and my client is locked up from nonstop data refreshing. This is said to be related to the Resistance Package modules (I bought the Resistance Package) but the modules won't unlock even if I got over 120,000 GXP.

2-1/2 years and the game remains constantly afflicted with showstoppers (a term for really serious bugs).
