So IGP told PGI to devote 6+ months of their time and money to transverse?

No..wait...what? The hell are you talking about? IGP used to be the publisher of PGI. However, IGP went defunct and PGI was able to retain the rights to MWO, the IP, and the game itself, allowing them to finally begin working on the game themselves without interference from IGP. What I'm saying is that the last 6+ months of MWO has been PGI being able to work on MWO the way they want, the way the community wants, and FOR the community, not for the money like IGP cared about.

You bring up Transverse? Are you ******* kidding? Do you know how game development even works, or how crowdfunding works for that matter? Transverse is a separate entity within PGI that was put up for CROWD FUNDING, meaning the money from MWO did not go to funding anything but MWO.

Quote

"Mechwarrior Online studio Piranha Games has shut down its crowdfunding campaign for space MMO Transverse, following promises last month that it would do so if the campaign failed to gain traction. All who contributed to the campaign will be refunded, the studio announced today."

It didn't even get funded, and was abandoned in favor of concentrating solely on MWO. The point of this being that if the funding had happened, a second team to work on Transverse would have been formed. MORE people, not the same people (though some may have been moved to Transverse and others hired to replace them for MWO) would have worked on Transverse. The cost of concept art and pre-design material is extremely low in comparison to production material, so I don't see where you think thousands of dollars went into making the Transverse concept.

Do people not research **** before they make these asinine posts?

So it's been a couple years yet your game continues to have major performance issues. Certainly with growth it's expected but your code is garbage. When I go from a 90 ping to 500 in a manner of a couple drops you would say it's an ISP issue. No so at 300 mb a second and a 20 mb upload. You continue to have memory leaks and or your infrastructure is garbage. You want more money from us fix the basics already. Pissed off customer

Scendore out

Bandwidth and latency are not the same thing. I am in Germany and my ping is always 110-130; very consistent. Their infrastructure had some teething problems after the datacenter move but has been fine for quite some time now. Does the game have bugs? Absolutely and some of them really need some attention. But your latency to the server probably has its root cause closer to home than to PGI's code.

Lets say you're a cook. A great one. In a very very very busy, overbooked restaurant.

I order a steak. An hour later I ask the waiter, where's my steak. Waiter tells you I'm pissed off, and you quickly rush to cook my steak. And it's probably a damn good steak, but it's also a lil pink in the center.

Meanwhile, I've already got up and left a few minutes ago.

Let's say you order something from Amazon, UPS doesn't deliver it on time so it's time to boycott Amazon, right?

Who said anything about boycotting?

I never mentioned that I'd badmouth the cook or the restaurant. I never mentioned anything about putting a bad review on some website. If you don't like the service, then just simply leave. You can always come back to the restaurant another time.

Cmon man, don't put words in peoples mouths... :P

Boycotting is an act of voluntarily abstaining from using, buying, or dealing with a person, organization, or country as an expression of protest.
