It was a surprise to CSJ too.

The PGI algorithm had been switching between House Steiner and Rasalhague (as to which Inner Sphere power had Attack rights against Tukayyid) when the CSJ pocket used to have a contiguous border with House Steiner Space.

MANY memorable matches with SRoT were enjoyed by ALL involved.

This has not reoccurred however in the last few cycles, but may (through the recent advent of "wormhole tech Jumpships") crop up again in the future.

Oh well, at least we are earning a ton of creds and having fun.

This was one reason CSJ pounced on the 03FEB Oceanic-cycle opportunity to liberate Tukayyid. There is an INCOMPARABLE advantage to being able to "Call the Banners" and execute a defensive effort on the level of the Clan's OPN CLAN UNITY http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__4114431

Given how central to Lore, Tukayyid truly is, if the Inner Sphere ever regained Tukayyid and could once again "Call its own Banners" it is my opinion that Terra might be reached before the Inner Sphere ever losses Tukayyid a second time.

THIS is the reason it is so vey easy currently for me to run through Clan TeamSpeak channels and amalgamate OPN CLAN UNITY defensive efforts on Tukayyid.

Yes, Inner Sphere Gamers should take note of a Clan's access to wormhole technology and NOT be caught napping (Oceanic-cycle, 3FEB) again after CW Launches (likely post May/Jun and the expected Steam release.)

The Clan world of Tukayyid is now uncovered and subject FRR attack.

All Clan Common Defenders that can drop in support of Tukayyid Defensive efforts are hungry encouraged to do so.

I look forward to fighting alongside my Clan Wolf, Clan Jade Falcon and Clan Ghost Bear Trothkin this next 8-hour Oceanic-cycle.

Good Luck and Good Gaming,

Meet you on the high (Tukayyidian) ground,

May your opponents "Will" to continue the fight, fail them long before your last Auto-Cannon Shell slams home in the Breech!!!

BREAK BREAK BREAK

Truly outstanding support from Clan Wolf, Clan Jade Falcon and Clan Ghost Bear has permitted the Clan Defenders to ace nice a nearly 12-gamer advantage on the two 12-man Teams currently dropping for the FRR on Tukayyid.

As a direct result of this numeric overmatch, Clan Defenders have seized and maintained the INITIATIVE keeping FRR Attackers on the defense, specifically "Hold" missions in the two lost sectors (1 and 2.)

If Clan Defenders can manage to keep the current numeric overmatch, 2-teams of 12 Attackers will NEVER proceed past the first few sectoers.

BREAK BREAK BREAK

I participated in the first defenses of both First Sector and Third Sector.

We lost the first battle to Deadfire, QueenBlade, theB33f and 5 other 228 exemplars accompanied by 4 FRR stalwarts.

A great march, that evolved into a true "Battle" and not just 3 Light Rush Zerggings of the Omega.

Kudos to Deadfire and 228 for offering honorable combat!

We managed to preserve the third sector, Hellebore Springs, with a very active defense that only just managed to reach the time limit with a third of the Omega remaining.

KUDOS to all Clan Common Defenders who fought thus far on Tukayyid this day.

I would also like to express my appreciation for all the FRR-flagged Soloists, Small Units, and Large Units that offered to game with us on Tukayyid tonight (EST.)

I trust great fun was had by ALL!

At the height of our initial surge to the Ramparts and Bastions of Tukayyid, our valiant Clan Common Defenders overwhelmed the likes of 228 and Old with numbers and determination. Despite taking 2 Sectors during the initial Planetfall, a heroic Clan Counterattack secured the lost Sector 1.

Unfortunately a third team of 12 entered the Battle for the FRR and a series of defensive setbacks saw FRR forces stage a remarkable resurgence.

From the Sulfurous Rift Bastion of Sector Two, FRR forces redoubled their efforts and required Sector One as well as completing Assaults and securing Sectors Three and Four.

Currently FRR forces have an attack underway in Sector 5, while a Clan Common Counterattack is underway in Sector Two.

While events of late have taken a bleak turn, our Defender's spirits remain high, with upwards of 30 Wolf, Falcon and Bear Trothkin, ready, willing and eager to bring the fight to Rasalhaugue forces in any sector imperiled by FRR Invaders.

It was sometime around 4:30am last night when a rising flood of Clan Common Defenders crested 1 and possible 2 full 12-man Teams above and beyond a flagging-Invader 2-team Invasion effort. Ghost drops were executed as well as at least one Clan Common Defender 12-man "Elite Vanguard" effort who racked up Counterattack win after counterattack win.

It is now Oceanic-Ceasefire, and Tukayyid has been restored to a single RFF Planetfall Bastion in Sector 7, along the Boreal Vault.

While this initial Round of the Fourth Battle of Tukayyid is complete, the next (Euro-cycle) is set to kick off in less than 5-minutes.

I entreat ALL Clan Common Defenders to stand by and drop as they can to assist in the Defense of Tukayyid.

Tukayyid is very central to BattleTech Lore: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Tukayyid

Results are in for the Fourth Battle of Tukayyid's first 8-hour Ceasefire-Cycle:

- At the height of the Invasion (roughly the 2 and a half-hour mark) 40% of the Planet had fallen.

- Persistent and relative to the Enemy, plentiful Clan Common Defenders were decisive in eventually overcoming 228's and OLD's qualitative domination.

- an estimated 18-21 matches were conducted overall.

- Clan Common Defenders were approximately 87% of ALL Clan contributions to the initial phase of the Fourth Battle of Tukayyid.

My most profound thanks to all our Wolf, Falcon and Bear Trothkin who dropped this day with us on Tukayyid. Your efforts resulted in the Invaders finishing the Oceanic-cycle holding only 1 sector. Great job!

Nicely done, what 228 and OLD stated, VRDG and BWC finished.

Excellent dozen-plus matches, THESE were the reason I game - superbly proficient opposition, great combat simulator, evolving CW tactics all coalescing in increasingly enjoyable matches.

...and now on with the planning for the FIFTH battle of Tukayyid!

Tukayyid has fallen...

Results are in for the Fourth Battle of Tukayyid's final 8-hour Ceasefire-Cycle:

- At the height of the Invasion (roughly just prior to the 8-hour mark) 80% of the Planet had fallen, though reporting continued after Ceasefire with the final high mark of 86% eventually reached.

- What had previously been persistent and numerically superior Clan Common Defenders were in this Euro-cycle, increasingly overwhelmed by both 12-man Faction/Unit drops as well as FRR Soloists and Small Grouos. It is a key assessment that in-game VOIP was a critical advantage to BOTH sides in different Battles - the side that participated in VOIP constructively invariably won while the Team that devolved to internal grieving, profanity and frustration ultimately lost. While 228's and OLD's qualitative domination began the Fourth Battle for Tukayyid in the Oceanic-cycle, it proved to be VRGD and BWC's skill and knowledge of MWO's Metagame that finished off select Sector Fights during the waning moments of the Fourth Battle for Tukayyid.

- an estimated 45-47 matches were conducted overall.

- Clan Common Defenders were approximately 78% of ALL Clan contributions to the final phase of the Fourth Battle of Tukayyid.

Once again I would like to extend my most profound thanks to all our Wolf, Falcon and Bear Trothkin who dropped this day and night with us on Tukayyid.

Your efforts, stalwart Defensives and epic Counterattacks will long be remembered by ALL who participated.

To ALL Rasalhague LOYALIST, Loyal Mercenary Corps Units and 7-day Mercenary Corp Units, your skill and game acumen is unquestionable, and earned you a most decisive victory during the Fourth Battle of Tukayyid with 13 of 15 Sectors captured.

Good Gaming and a "Thank you for Gaming" to ALL Trothkin and Opposing Force gamers as well.

(one-caveat: Tukayyid Mead is exceptionally fine, so we took it all with us! When it runs low, we wil return to FRR Space once again...)

Tukayyid LIBERATED!

FRR forces liberated the world of Tukayyid today!
The Kungsarme' as well as several Merc units have now succeeded in closing the Smoke Jaguars wormhole into the middle of the FRR that appeared several weeks ago.
Reports are filtering in slowly from the liberated areas of the world, but it appears that many civilians may have been executed as reprisals to acts of resistance towards the Clan invaders.

Several reports of whole towns being razed to the ground and the populace slaughtered are circulating, but have not yet been confirmed by the FRR Government.

They better not have, when we first took this planet it was to save it from falling in other Clan hands. We had passively encouraged the local communities that nothing had changed, even going as far as moving our dependents to the planet. 228th will await confirmation of these reports, but if any of them are remotely true...

I can assure you that ALL combat occurred EXCLUSIVELY in and around the 15 Military Bastions along Tukayyid's Boreal Vault, Sulfurous Rift and Hellebore Springs.

ZERO combat occurred in the River City or Crimson Straight regions of Tukayyid. Though there were very strange reports of mixed Clan/Inner Sphere 12-man Teams attacking one another in endless Deathmatches, Base Assaults and Conquest Raids. (Though the near mention of intermixed Clan and Inner Sphere Pilots on the same Teams serves notice these reports are likely completely false.)

Trust me, CSJ and indeed the entirety of the Clans can ONLY attack/defend Military Bastions along three areas - the Boreal Vault, Sulfurous Rift and Hellebore Springs.

We are mindful that:

Please see my answer to Deadfire above.

However it is of concern as unsubstantiated reports of "Rogue" Inner Sphere troops causing civilian casualties have been culled by our intelligence collection teams as well.

One potential answer is that it just may have been these "ComGuard" Installations and associated BattleMech Regiments seemingly situated in each sector of every planet...

I don't know what they are waiting for...

...but perhaps their increased OPTEMPO / enhanced training regimens have been responsible for any recent civilian casualties. While not a member of the ComGuards perhaps a CI representative will respond to this thread and help clarify ComGuard involvement.

Politics, Consequence Management, Situational Damage Control, Reputation Preservation - ALL of these exist in the rarified and higher realm of COMMUNITY warfare.

They are NOT for the weak of heart or Twitch Gamer need for speed.

But they ARE a very central part of the reason I am so very dedicated to participation and feedback to PGI in this Beta.

WE HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME BUT OURSELVES, if through lack of our own participation we permit PGI to craft toward ANOTHER'S RECOMMENDATIONS this Beta and end up with an MWO:CW which we simply do not enjoy and will not monetarily support.

Those who NEVER submitted ONE SINGLE SOLITARY Feature Suggestion (http://mwomercs.com/...re-suggestions/), HAVE ZERO BASIS TO COMPLAIN OR CRY LATER, in my opinion.

Rumor is rampant as to what this could mean: http://www.reddit.co...kayyid/#cow9poh

Indication of Russ' intent were telegraphed during the 19FEB town-hall: http://www.reddit.co...notes_219_live/

EXERPT FOLLOWS:
"(Q19: Cion What are the chances of seeing CW events like a big battle of Tukayyid and how would they work? (weekend event?, CW map changes, effects, rewards, etc. Etc.)
A19: Wants a big fight at Tukayyid... All IS vs. All Clan for control. Nice simple conclusion before a reset. Calls out Staff... need to talk about this."

As I recall it Russ spoke of looking into a 100-Sector Climactic Battle, pitting ALl Clans on the one side verses all Inner Sphere One the other.

Either way something is occurring on the PGI world of Tukayyid.

What precisely IT is has yet to be revealed.
