At the moment I run mine with an XL280, 5 tons of SRM ammo and 1,5 tons of MG ammo. Works out very well for me.

The Huginn gets 50% cooldown on SRM4s so that's no question. SRM4 every time.
SRM4 at 2.87 dps ... x2.0 because 50% cooldown = 5.74 dps
SRM6 at 3.23 dps ... x1.5 because 25% cooldown = 4.84 dps

9 DPS isn't something to scoff at.
(I don't think artemis is ever worth it... period. I just don't like spending tonnage on it, even on my heavier mechs)

Artemis is the difference between hitting a mech and hitting a component. Take a GRF-3M with 4x4 into testing grounds with and without Artemis and try it out. You may be surprised. I have to be closer with Oxide than Huginn to blow components for just this reason (still prefer Oxide, but that's a whole other story).

I don't have a 3M because I sold it before I knew it was meta. I have the 1N, which I play with 3x SRM6. I noticed a significant drop in my performance when I upgraded to Artemis. Reasons:
More tonnage devoted to the same equipment.
- sacrifice engine, heatsinks, or backup weapons.
- if you're fighting in melee range, you're not getting any of the benefits of artemis at all.
Less accurate
- miss more shots entirely
- without artemis, you're more likely to hit the intended component with your shots if your aim is slightly off. With artemis, if you miss... you miss.
- without artemis, it's much easier to leg lights. With artemis, it's practically down to luck if you hit or not.
Yes, I know... "git gud" so you don't miss, but there's only so much you can do. I use my SRMs at "in your face" range most of the time, or I poptart with them, so it's better to hit with something than to miss with everything. Again, not debating - personal taste, personal decision. Artemis works better for other people, that's why they use it. However, with SRM4s in particular, I find it to be rather objective - artemis doesn't help SRM4s that much, it helps SRM6s better. Plus, the Huginn is best at "melee" range as well, so you don't need the artemis. It's a DPS machine, not a pinpoint strike and fade runner.
This is the last comment I'll post on the topic since I don't want to derail the thread, but it's a personal taste kinda thing, no interest in debating further.

Fair enough. I disagree that it's just down to taste, but that it's not the point of the thread. And, FWIW, I'll never tell you to "git gud" unless you're a jerk first, which you never have been, Tarogato.
Back on topic, this is how I run my Huginn

Hmm... I'll try this since 7 tons of ammo is yummy and I have an XL295 from my RVN-3L(C). Thanks for the suggestion!

What makes me deplete the ammo are: Picking a lone Assault then realizing that he's relatively fresh, and, brawling with another light(s). Because of those, I usually sit back in a match and play RVN-3L (scout) till mid-late game

Be more selective on your SRM shots and you will have planet of ammo. Never salvo a heavy or assault from the front just to cause damage unless they are open somewhere for example.
Mine, nothing crazy but it was the first mech I built when I started a few months ago and it is still one of my best performers.

Hmm..., the SRMs on chain fire. Why do you do that? Is it because you want to have two kinds of "machine guns"?
