'Twas the peekfest to end all peekfests.
The assault lance and I spawned in a different post code, and the battle for the summit was almost over by the time we arrived. While our team hadn't managed to gain a decent foothold, the enemy weren't able to push us off either. Most of our battered and mauled team were forced to cower on the edge of the precipice.
I, however, got into a great, high spot, was dug in like a giant metal tick, and had a great fire lane. I was able to dissuade their team from pushing too hard with a couple of early makeshift amputations and risky alpha strikes, but after that everything bogged down.
Most of the damage I dished out after that was to exposed elbows, shoulders or antannas, heh. I think I removed a limb from every mech in that game. Every time I went for the more juicy bits, I took too much return fire. Every time they tried to explore new options, the top 10 pixels of my mech removed and cauterised one of their limbs, and they'd withdraw. The position I was in meant that they couldn't approach en masse to shift me out.
It was a proper stalemate.
