For those with Nvidia cards 600 series or greater, I urge you to check out TXAA(under advanced options>anti-aliasing). When this first became available as an option it would just crash my client. Now that the 64 bit client is available I figured I would give it another try. Fortunately, it works now.

WOW! This is the single best improvement in appearance for this game I've seen. The game looks stunning. Every other option seems to have only a marginal effect on its appearance. Granted, you need a beefy card and CPU, but if you meet the requirements it is well worth it. My average frame rates have not dipped compared to Post-AA.

Etrius, I urge you to check out The Perfect Screenshot Thread

TXAA has a lower visual quality then MSAA (albet a lower performance cost) If you want to see the best switch to MSAA, and add the following lines to your User.cfg (and watch your FPS likely tank)

r_TexMinAnisotropy=16
r_TexMaxAnisotropy=16
r_MSAA_samples=8

I punish my GTX980 with 4k+ resolutions and msaa for the screenshot thread.

I play @4k with no AA.

omfg!! what is your system specs mainly cpu/gpu and OC's if applicable?.... cause im running pretty damn strong at 3930k @ 4ghz and a 7970 and on testing grounds anyway at 1080 on viridian my fps is 50ish and not even all settings to very high

those screen shots are unreal... how much of that is actual in game without you editing at all?

I run an AMD FX8350 at 4730 (1.4v)/ 2420nb (1.17v) / 2640ht. My memory runs at 2346mhz 9-10-9 (1.5v) and my GTX 980 is stock when I play, but I push it to 1430core and 7400 memory when I am running for screenshots at a resolution of 5430x3055 where I can acheive 20-30fps.

But at 3840x2160 I avg 52fps (logged and checked) using a frame limit of 65.

I apologize if there are any errors I typed this with my cell phone.

ok so i guess your resolution alone makes those SS look far better then my 1080 would allow, and of course the 980 is a beast compared to my 7970..... can upost a couple SS of images that you havent touched up to compare to the ones you have touched up?

Is it just me that thinks quite the opposite about TXAA? It is WAY too blurry and all detail is lost when using it. MSAA looks better but I can't because of performance, and Post I can run with no problems but it causes terrible ghosting (like crazy terrible) to the point that I can't take screenshots because they end up like this.

Since they introduced the 64 bits client I use it and decided to try TXAA and MSAA last week. Unfortunatly I was not able to get it working, client hang or when it starts I don't see enhanced AA.

Maybe because I play in 3D? Haven't tried disabling it. They have enough to fix already that I won't bother them with this... Over 6 months now I'm waiting for them to fix problems with 3D.

But usually, AA is less important when in 3D, depth and both images mixed in brain forgive more jagged lines.

I run a GTX 770, not clearly anything compared to a lot of you, but would this do the trick?

Curious about this as well. I am running the same card with a stock i7 3770 that churns out 3.4 to 3.9 ghz. Also got 16gb of ram.

All my MWO stuff is on an SSD drive.

Fair warning from your part but I had to try it. Tanked is an understatement!

u wanna be AT LEAST 4ghz on all cores and ive heard in the hardware section no less then 4.3ghz (intel cpu's).... unforutnately intel turbo doesnt get all 4 cores to 3.9, is that a 3770k or just a 3770?

Just a 3770. unfortunately no option to overclock, though i honestly have no knowledge about how to go about doing that anyway.

its beyond easy, if you can click your mouse button and then type "40" and then click a button called close and save you have OC'd to 4ghz just like that... its all i had to do on mine... anyway its a non factor since your multiplier is locked :(
