So, what builds have you loved running that other people hate? super cheesy, one trick ponies, 32kph LRM boats, etc... Whats your favorite troll?
...
When the traitors which give away your coordinates to the enemy have angered me too much, I often use it to hide my powered down mech in a place too high for any other mech to get me

I added a flamer as a backup weapon, though, to make it a well-balanced and reasonable build.

Any double-gauss mech is a good kill stealer. I once got 5 kills and ~200 dmg with a double gauss crab from all that FLPPD which gausses are so good at.

But on troll-fectiveness that would be the 6 MG 2 LPL Arrow. Really nothing like throwing up 1k+ damage scores in a 35 ton mech.

DWF-A "Mother of God"
If you switch the HBK-4P's engine out for a standard 275, switch out the PL in the arms for ML and a SL in the head,
along with getting rid of the heatsinks,
you can add a bap and troll hard.
I've a few 6 kill games and a few 800 damage games with such a setup

The Urban Atlas!
47 tons of weapons (excluding 6.5 additional tons of ammo) moving at 32 kph.

This is my first mock-up, but I think we can do better.
You can, indeed, do better.
Same weapons.
DHS upgrade, giving better heat dissipation.
Engine upgrade, also giving better heat dissipation in addition to better agility.
More ammo.
Same weapons - but they can fire longer and more often than before, so even they are upgraded.
Only downside - less armor.
Upside of the downside - it's better distributed. Until PGI fixes Atlas hitboxes, arms don't soak up much damage naturally. You can MAKE them soak it up, if you wish, but otherwise? Most of it goes straight to your STs.
Obviously, adjust the front/rear torso values as you prefer. But arms don't need much armor on the Atlas. TBH I don't usually run more than 30 or 36 on Atlas arms, and hardly ever lose them. I only made an exception on this specific build due to how much firepower and heat dissipation you're carrying in them.
Legs need more armor than arms on the Atlas, but still not much - most players have learned to immediately aim for the RT of an Atlas once they see it, so your legs are still relatively safe. Compared to other assault 'Mechs, though, your legs do get targeted a fair amount. So don't go below 60 on them.

And my desperate attempt to do something with the free CN9-AH(L) resulted in the Sawed-Off Shotgun

Currently running it with flamers instead of spl. Yes really and you'd be amazed at its crit seeking mightiness!

Ilya with 3xLB10. Armor heavily biased to the front. I just keep waddling forward and fire the LBX on chain fire (alpha on open internals). Eats ammo but makes so many mechs turn and run. Sooooooo much fun
