Some one give us a Heads up on How to Download Mektek MW4 Download for Dummies!!! I do not understand all the stuff on the page!! It take you to one site and another!!! All I want to do is play and pratice the game!!

Click here

Install and launch the program you just downloaded
Go to "games available"
Select Mechwarrior 4 on the bottom
Right click and select "Install Game"
Wait until it shows up on "Installed Games"


You're done I just decided to replay Mercenaries today and I must admit, although I have a lot of respect for the Mektek team, they have made the process of installing and playing the game a bit confusing. The interface hasn't improved much with the addition of all those hundreds of mechs and weapons but that's just nitpicking of me. Have fun!

Me too. It says that I am in ofline mode.

Assault Tech 1 is a Mech engine developed by another team at Mektek, mostly based on MW2/3 mechanics. Well worth checking out.

I, too, had the 'operating in offline mode' at first. I shut the program down and walked away for a few hours. When I relaunched it, there were two games available for download, and mercs was one of them. I got it all d'led and patched and have played it online. I am running AVG 2012 antivirus, and had no issues. If you are running a different AV you may look at the workarounds that are posted dealing with the other AV's. I can get the intro to run and then it just goes back to the beginning, set compatability mode (XP SP3) and run as admin etc and all the advice from site with luck (Windows 7 64 bit). Can run Assault no problems

What version is this it says its old version are there updates? Thanks

I've downloaded this pack earlier when they first released MW4 for free. I'm experiencing the crash when the heli lands on a certain mission. They released a patch for it through their client, I checked and the client said that I didn't even have MW4 downloaded (I did). So I uninstalled it and re-installed it through client. It says I have the version before the patch for my crash. So I tell it to search for updates...none found. MekTek forums werent much help so it lay dormant until now. When I reinstalled I forgot to save my save file. So when MWO was announced I got back into MW4, I am just a few missions shy of the heli one with the crash. I am 1 version short of the patch (I think 3.1), the client is once again saying that its not installed. *sigh* This is why I got into consoles, tired of this. Was really upset when they announced no console version of MWO. Now Im going to have to build a desktop (been playing on Lap Top). Anyone have similar issues with the patch and client not working correctly?

Assult Tech is the Mech Game created by the MekTek folk using the Unreal 2 Game Engine. This means that you don't need a high end computer to play the game and it is FREE.

Agreed. I have reinstalled MW4, it now sees it and says theres updates availale. It got stuck 1/2 through .0029 then said "servers not available", however it says my current version is .0029. Now I am trying to update to .0030 and it is stuck on "contacting mektek servers.." for about an hour...so its also crappy servers.

I just downloaded it and I remember why I hate MW4 compared to 3.... the controls are horrible! How do i configuure it to aim with the friggin mouse?

Controls -> Tick the box marked mouse -> change drop down selection to torso

ok, do ive downloaded the MTX thing, clicked on the games to download, and clicked install game for MW4: Merc. now what?
i cant even tell if its downloading the game, after i click it this shows up at the bottom
"Downloading and installing new game. This will take sometime. Please wait."

and after about an hour, nothings changed, all the status' show zero.
am i doing this right or do i have to change something in the options for this to work?

nevermind, changed the "method for game updates" from torrent to http.
not sure if this was it or if it just didnt want to work last time
