anyway to play this offline after installation?
whenever it goes offline then back to online mode, im told i haven't installed the game.

I've been trying to find an original copy of MW4:M. I have the Mektek download but I don't like all of the unofficial add-on content that was in it. They should have let you download MW4:M unmodified, and then offered the option to download their additional content.

MW4:M is such a fun game. But it has the same problem MC2 has, it's too easy, and the difficulty adjuster doesn't fix the issue. Too bad they didn't have a Merc game that had the super intuitive mechanics of MW4:M, and something closer to the difficulty of MW2:M.

Here is how to get the Mektek version working on gameranger and th Mektek servers

I dont know if all of the people on this forum know where to play there old Mech type games but here it is

Mechwarrior4MercinariesPR1,and the Mechwarrior4Mercenaries Free Mektek version also.

Here are the instructions to get the Mektek Free version to work on GameRanger

First go to gameranger.com download client and make account.The activation email will sometimes come in a junk folder.Activate your account and startup gameranger.
Visit www.mektek.net and download a free copy of Mechwarrior Mercinaries through the MTX or torrunt programs update it to version 3.1/30a-30c
Next go to your hardrive where your free copy of the Mektek mercinaries is installed(C:D:ECT\programfiles\mektek.net folder).
Next rename the folder(mektek.net)folder to (Mektek) delete the (.net).
Next go inside the newly renamed (mektek) folder and find the folder(Mercenaries-Mektek Mekpack)
Next rename the folder (Mercenaries-Mektek Mekpack) to (MercenariesMektek)all one word then go back to GameRanger on the gameranger bronze page go to edit then options find the game Mechwarrior Mercinaries on the games tab highlight it on list then hit the brows tab to open it point your link to your new C:\program files\mektek\MercinariesMektek\MW4mercs.exe
thats it now you can play on gameranger.

I would hope to see more of you on gameranger to let the community know where still here and ready to play MWO when it comes out.So dust off those old CD'S and lets rumble.IF no old cd's go to Mektek and grab the MTX downloader or torrents and install the free mercs version.

P.S after renaming the folders go inside the 2 folders find the MW4mercs.exe make a shortcut to desktop to start it from there and go to multiplayer connect to play on the Mektek servers.

Everytime I run the client, its automatically in offline mode and theres nothing I can do about it, because of this I cant download the game. what do I do?

ok here's the connection issue fix. 1. obtain a program named MTX extractor (Not the MTX program installer.)
/ open the mektek.net folder open the mercs game folder and delete everything in the folder. do not delete
the MTX folder/ save your varients or you'll be shooting yourself in the foot.
2. open mektek.net folder in your program 86 folder for 64bit. or program folder for 32 bit.
3. open MTX folder locate temp folder and open it then open the games folder
4. open temp folder. locate: .mtx files and install them in order of patches through the MTX extractor.
putting the new mercs in them ercs folder. problem solved.

put your varients file back intall all the maps and off you go.

So basically you need to do a complete reinstall of the game and being mektek MTX servers are gone for now you cannot reinstall the game through the MTX Program updater.

This connection issue is a known bug and will hopefully be fixed some time after the ppl take over the servers hopefully.
