Laser Are The Only Weapons That Matter?

Like a laser anything can dish out enough damage to negate any other weapon type for the most part.
has it always been this way it is just seems worse now or I am in a ELO range where non-optimal builds just do not work at all?

IS ac's are very well working weapons, clan AC's are a bid nosnense.
Gauss is a great weapon. if you cna put 2 on a mehc, otherwise a single one is not that great.
srms and streaks,a re too much spreaddamge to work reliable on bigger mechs, yet good for hunting lights.
And so lasers are one of the most used wepaons, because: they are available for all ranges, ammo indpendend. and sine every mech can simply have DHS upgrades its nothing to think about if you should use DHS or not.
Further with a massive heattreshold of a skilled mech beginning mostly at 50 (or maybe 45 for some lights) There is a massive amount of open heat ressource to spam a lot enerygweapons.

Since All lasers, no matter the size sync together in speed and burn times and crap, plus they have no ammo, and heat doesnt matter, except keeping yourself below 100%, yeah, lasers are the only guns that matter.
Cannons, only when you can slap in like 4 and if they are IS, or missiles when you can boat them and get a NARC allied to light stuff up do they matter.

This is all due to convergence. Something we have campaigned for them to fix since July of 2012 and they still haven't done anything at all to address it.

Why would you not boat lots of lasers and fire them all at once? The alternative is standing there staring firing one at a time? That's called face tanking and that is not good.

they are forntloaded damage, they are not Pinpoint damage.

That's why a while ago it was all crying about the PPFLD meta with PPCs and ACs. Now that has been nerfed and lo and behold we move on to crying about a new laser vomit meta. I knew this was going to happen when the old meta was nerfed, that's why I wanted a slight buff to lasers whilst keeping PPCs where they were so we would have multiple viable mid range direct fire options. Now PPCs can't compete, IS ACs are okay if boated but not nearly as effective at range and are heavy and have ammo, and gauss rifles are good but heavy and not all mechs can equip them.
You want less lasers? Make PPCs able to compete [on more than just a couple of mechs]. After all, they are the heavier weapon and should be more powerful than an ER LL but they are definitely not.

No.
Frontloaded means all their damage is done upfront instantly upon connection with the target, and includes:
IS ACs,SRMs, PPCs, IS LRMs (on mechs with enough tubes for their launchers) and Gauss Rifles
Pinpoint means all the damage is delivered to one tiny spot and includes everything except SRMs, LBX autocannons, LRMs and SSRMs (which are their own special thing). Lasers (and Clan non LBX ACs) are a special case with this as the damage can be turned into spread damage instead of pinpoint by either the target or firers motion.
PPFLD weapons are IS ACs, Gauss and PPCs only.
Lasers are sort of pinpoint, and most definitely not frontloaded. What they are is exceptional damage per ton, and hitscan (infinite projectile speed)

All you have to do is be moving and it's damage is cut down drastically
Other weapons (yes including CLAN AC's) are far more effective if you can aim worth a damn
that last part gets most people though

You actually disproved your second point with your first point. Since clan AC's are burst-fire, their damage is spreadable just like lasers. So "if you can aim worth a damn" lasers will still be the more effective weapon.
