This is the new meme of CW it seems.

"My unit/team/faction won most of our matches (insert generously high percentage here) but still lost the Planet. I blame pugs and ghost drops."

That might be a fair statement, but now I see the same thing from everybody on the forums. It's the new excuse for units to save face.

No, you guys losing worlds ARE NOT winning most of your matches, sorry. If you were, you wouldn't lose the planet. I know, you have screenshots as proof positive you bested the very uberest unit ever on the op4, and we both know that was one cherry-picked screen out of a few battles. I know, it's those damn pugs, or ghost drops, even though pugs are getting rare in CW, and it takes three dedicated 12mans to ghost drop a planet in like an hour to 50+%.

So stop saying you're winning even though you're obviously losing. It's quite unseemly. Thanks.

Ignorance is bliss I guess.

The units who say they win all of their matches actually are winning their matches, but other units and groups of solos on the planet are losing, and losing faster than the other team can win. Its not that difficult to grasp once one looks past his own Saltiness.

When I say "all" matches I am referring to going on a winning streak and whilst losing a hold on the planet, not necessarily winning every CW match they have dropped on.

I believe I remember Lords making similar statements in the beginning of CW. Guess they were really losing all their matches too?

Does this hold true to CGB who say they never lose a battle, but continually lose ground to Clan Wolf?

I don't think Bob is saying it's not possible for a particular unit to win matches but still lose a planet. What he is pointing to is the constant excuse that this is happening. Some Marik folks said the same thing last Friday when they were defending the FRR fro CGB, and yet we defeated FWL teams over and over again. When MS was Davion this came up when a 6-10 man of ours in the off hours took a Liao planet that was defended by full teams and pugs. The common assumption was that we took the world through ghost drops and huge population, even though we only got one ghost drop in that entire set of attacks and were running less than 12 folks for most of the drops we managed to get in on the world. A number of teams seem to report never losing even though we see these teams get defeated. That is the issue Bob is bringing up.

And Davers...any wins CW have are 100% legit, but they aren't getting much in the way of attention from most CGB units. That whole conflict keeps being more seesaw like in it's attentions from either side. It's been rare to have CW or CGB dedicate much in the way of units to that conflict yet. When it has happened it has tended to be because of limited attack lanes. While CGB has good attack lanes south, with conflict with Steiner, FRR, and CJF, there has been little interest in pushing CW. On the flip side, CW has been severely limited in their attack options so it has been a prime focus for them recently. More power to them for every planet they can take and hold.

And I don't think CGB as a whole has said they never lose. MS for it's part has often thanked those we have faced and lost to in battle. I know, your just trolling to keep us all honest, but I like to take you seriously and reply in earnest. :)

If you are getting defenses and winning, you are not taking markers off the planet, only preventing them from being pushed further. The issue here is that the defense side of it does not remove markers, but only prevents new ones from being placed.

I would prefer if PGI had it set up where attackers get pushed off the planet at X percent of sections and defenders lose planet at Y captured by attackers. Have attackers start with 10, defenders with 20 and a number that start unowned that get fought. Once all are owned a defender win takes one from attacker and the reverse until the winning % is owned by one side or the other.

I'd love to see a constant battle with insta flip on planets instead of a ceasefire. We'd be resetting the map on a monthly basis, but that is fun stuff, IMHO.

I was playing with a 12 man and we lost every match we played in 3-4 hours. It was that bad.

And I think we only faced pugs.

for every 1 win your team has made.

3 pug teams have gotten stomped.

Not sure why this thread is still open, but is is VERY possible to win all your games and lose the planet. We once went 6 for 6 and lost a planet as other groups on our TS were dropping games as we were winning. Then the ceasefire hit with Kurita up one match with two left to play that we had to wait for results. Both were losses and we lost the planet.
