Weird "delayed" Kills

Yesterday I played a CW match and I saw a quite weird thing: two of my targets died a second late. Basically, I shoot, my weapons were in cooldown but suddenly my target become a popcorn. It happened twice, check this video (audio is in Italian, sorry about that):
Both targets were Dual Gauss Jagermechs so I think it's a problem related to this mech or the GR. Perhaps I scored a critical on the GR and it blew up destroying the XL engine, but this doesn't explain the delay. Since I don't have jedi powers, I think it's just an animation problem of something connected to how the damage is spreaded between each section. Don't know.
Did it happened to any of you?

I've also seen it where just as my shot lands, the target dies, but someone else got the kill shot credit. Again, ammo explosion, HSR, or wrong person getting the credit for the kill shot.
Anyway, as long as someone on the red team dies, does it really matter?

GR ammo does not explode. However, the devs have applied the same mechanic of the ammo explosion to the GR so, even if it does not sound correct to me, what happened is really a GR explosion.
Nice, it seems I have cooked a couple of GRifles then

Thats what i meant. The weapon itself exploded. I believe that is a possibility if I remember correctly.

Gauss ammo doesn't explode...Gauss RIFLES do. You blew off the arm, triggered the Gauss rifle exploding, and the explosion is what took out the side torso, killing the mech a second later.

It used to be that if you were close to the dying Mech you could actually hear the ammo cooking off. The pilot of said Mech could hear it, too, if they were paying attention. Don't know whether or not that audio cue is still in the game, though.

There is usually about half second, to full second delay as the game registers all of the damage/critical hits from Gauss Rifle, or (non-gauss) ammo explosions

It was the coolest sound too...reminded me of the Fire Swamp pre-gas flame jets

Could be AC or missile ammo explosion as well, although they're not as likely critted as Gauss Rifle is.
nope, the joke is on me from the looks of it...

It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure that a long time ago I got a kill via a chained ammo explosion. I had already turned around and was facing away from the target before it exploded, so it must have been 2-3 seconds. I've always suspected that I caused arm ammo to explode, which in turn caused torso ammo to explode, which in turn destroyed the CT (or possibly even caused CT ammo to explode).
I mean... in game, it was FOREVER before that Mech died. I was doing hit-and-run tactics and I was already planning my next strike and heading for a different target when the kill message came through. Time gets distorted in combat so I doubt it was more than 2-3 seconds, but it felt like I'd fired that shot last week. Mentally I'd moved on from that target completely.

Arm ammo will straight up kill the Arm, ST and CT if it hasn't been used yet. 200 damage from SRMs, ~150for ballistics.
It will take it's time dealing the individual amounts of weapon damage. So, AC20 ammo will kill you faster than LRM ammo. Both will kill you if they are full, though.

Don't forget to apply MWO 50% transfer reduction, though. By the time an arm ammo explosion gets to the CT (having spent some of its value destroying both the arm and the side torso) it very likely won't destroy a heavy or assault.
But in this case it was well into the battle, so it's entirely possible that some (or all) of the ammo crits involved were at partial capacity.
