I am trying to make a private drop for myself and a couple people to do some 1v1, 2v2 and 4v4 matches. Can't find the button to create it.

You need active premium time.

It really needs to be a separate button. I'm really sick of having to confirm a private match when in my 1000's of games I've never once launched a private match

Yep. Should really just be two buttons. One in your friends list called "Create Private Group" and in the Group window called "Convert to Private Group" (if you make a non-private group to start with)

Actually you need 2 premium times.

Whoever is going to be the group lead (to add/drop players, etc) on the opposing team must have premium time active as well as the person activating the private match.
