He tanked more then any mech we have now.
He is my Hero.
He didn't tank the damage, only the Uziel was aiming while the others were firing wildly like n00bs.

(I heard they built actual mechs for this, but trashed them when they found out the control system only ran properly under Linux)

I agree too, if they had to keep it simple and just do that, I'm all for it.
Just merely thinking out loud on how it could possibly be scripted into being.

I do however believe the turret would only count as 1 extra arm, for a total of 3.

But that is a an epic intro movie. I think that, the MechCommander intro are tied for my favorites.

Indeed, this design was actually produced by Microsoft. The question being if the design rights are tied to microsoft (since they created it) or the Video Game aspect of battletech.

That could not have cost that much. There is B-Movie level, and then this, and then me with a camcorder in my backyard. Those three tiers are spaced evenly from each other in regards to quality with a small independent film being about 3x better than B-Movie level.

It got made in Wizkids' Mechwarrior: Dark Age (specifically the Fire For Effect expansion, and then later a modified version was in Falcon's Prey.)

That guy was in a realistic, life threatening situation in which recoil, heat, rock, and other problems were occurring. Oh, and he actually had the threat of death, you know...unlike this game and its population of 'YOLO LEEROY YOU SUCK FOR NOT RUSHING!' players that tend to be the reason for loss due to that one extra make wouldve made a difference.

Not to be confused with the Ghost Bear mech Apocryphal "Vulture mk II" which is a mad dog with the same engine, Timberwolf size, Reactive armour and Endo Steel, 2 er small lasers, 1 heavy medium laser, 1 machine gun, 1 C LBX 20, and 1 ER PPC with 2 LRM 15's.
That mech is apocryphal and not cannon.
Anyway the MW4 in THIS video is just demonstrating the Alt.Config custom build, demonstrating omnitech quite well. (Which is no hardpoints, place anything where ever you want. Rather that be 1 UAC 2 in each leg, 2 LRM 20's, and 2 CT small pulse lasers on a timberwolf)
This video it looks like a UAC, 1 in each arm and 2 Medium pulse lasers (clan), with 2 Clan LRM 20's (I actually counted each missile just to confirm...)
MDD-II
My version of it.
Incase the link gets broken after the next patch I will just list what I put down.
Stock Armour
Stock Engine
2 x Cl LRM 20 (1 in each torso)
2 x Cl LRM ammo (1 in each torso)
2 x Cl UAC 2 (1 in each arm)
2 x Cl UAC 2 ammo (1 in each arm)
2 x Cl Medium Pulse Lasers (2 in CT)
seems good (for a 'stock' mech)
Personally I would just leave it at 2 LRM 20's and 2 UAC 2's OR
2 Er med las, 2 lrm 15, 2 uac 2....
However in MW: O we got no 2E CT's.... (Hero mad dog plz)

Actually no, the Ghost Bear's IS refit "Vulture Mk II" is the canon. The apocryphal Vulture II is what you described, you have them backwards.

- The canon status of the Mad Dog Mk II (Vulture Mk II) was confirmed by the Lead Developer in a ruling on the official forum on 21 Aug 2013:

For balance/flavor reasons I would support the Vulture Mk II being considered an IS Omni and using IS Weaponry/Equipment due to its creation with innersphere factories and technology.
The Vulture II is non-canonical and was created by MekTek in their modification of Mechwarrior IV Mercenaries.

The only way I could see them making a chin turret work, is if they scripted the motion in it to act like a second set of 'arms'. Thus from a coding standpoint the mech would have 4 'arms' in which to aim when they are not locked to the torso.
It is in theory something that could be done, just depends on how they are coded in the system.
-ST
I would be fine if the chin turret simply tracks your arm movement.

Pictured below:

The 2nd one (the one that has an image) is the "Ghost bear" one. well the one I discribed.
It's discription in game says AND I quote:
"Given the immense popularity of the Vulture mech among Clan Ghost Bear ranks, the evolution of the Vulture II mech was heralded with much enthusiasm. The larger version of the vulture has improved direct fire load outs and thus is feared for its devestating ballistic and energy capabilities/"
-Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries 'Mekpak 3.1' version
end quote.
The "Apocryphal" Vulture II is an apocryphal alt.configeration based on the famous Mad Dog / Vulture.
I do not want to sound like an Intellectual ****** (Get that?... it's me being ironic. I said "smart ass" in an overly complicated way, thus sounding like a smart ass intentionally!.) however I think you need to check your resources for more precise data before claiming anything about it
I have solid evidence here that the Apocryphal Vulture II is a Ghost Bear mech while your evidence mearly states that the one that is more in line with the traditional Vulture looks (aka the MW4 "standard" Mad Dog / Vulture or "cannon" Vulture II / Mad Dog II.). Sadly you have no evidence stating what factories it got rolled out besides simply saying it's a IS refit. (Which kinda makes sense as all MW games with the "Vulture II" cannon is on the IS side, however it doesn't explain how Clan Wolf and Clan Jade Falcon prefers this 'worse' mad dog over there own in the same games and according to the master unit list this mech doesn't exist so far in TT?)
Anyway, sorry for being a hassle. Just stating my facts and resources.
