Are Clan Srm's Terrible Or Is It Just Me?

I later switched to streak 4's and had similar results. I've tried group firing them and chain firing them and they seem to not be worth the time to have.

Firing in this manner places a lot of disruption on the target making it very difficult to counter attack.

SSRMs literally spread their damage all over the place at random, so they're not that great unless you have something like 24+ tubes.

It seems like smaller volleys register better.

I used to rip mechs apart in my adder, some of my kintaros, and the dogs. Now you srm 16/24/5000 and mechs shrug them off like nothing happened.

I don't use large alpha shots often, so this issue has mostly passed over my head.

Yeah it seems some of the damage in large volleys doesn't apply. Maybe there are more bugs involved with overlapping explosions. Smaller volleys work better for me, more than 8-12 usually don't seem to do damage, even when they hit from very close up.
It's still better than pre-clan, when whole volleys sometimes didn't seem to do anything at all.

This isn't true at all for most cases.... I have a 40-60 ping in game and my SRM6's commonly do not register on the enemy mechs paperdoll... However, this same thing happens with alot of weapons where there are more than one firing at a time. PPC's for example...

SSRMs used to do 2.5 damage with each missile, but then it was nerfed down to 2.0 and they still have every downside that they had before, so now they're pretty much trash except on the most heavily boated clan SSRM boats.
