I'm really curious how other people do it, since the stress/accent (or however you call it in english) can either go on the first A (as in Átlas, the world bearer) or the second A (as in geographic atlás).

Personally i use the second one, but most youtubers/streamers i heard say it like in the first example. So how do you people read it?

I used to say "holy ****" when I turned the corner and ran into one.

Now with dire wolves and crabs I just say "crap"

If there are different pronunciations you would use the one for the "World Bearer" since the mech was named for that Titan.

I dunno why. I think I'm just too lazy to pronounce the second 'a'.

Well, I pronounce it At-lass(\ˈat-ləs\) myself, as that's how I was taught to say it. All the dictionaries I can find, both printed and online, agree with that pronunciation, and that's for both the Titan Atlas as well as the book of maps atlas, since one is named after the other.

It would be what you were taught was the proper way to say it. I learned to spell 'colour' and 'armour' as opposed to 'color' and 'armor' because I went to a catholic school in the United States run by nuns from England. I still say words like shant, betwixt, and other older English words that aren't used in the United States due to that early language education.

Atlas: AT-lus

Atlases: AT-lus-eez

I've been raised to put the emphasis on the first syllable, and my later training in classical languages reinforced that rule, so that's how I say it.

No, no, no - it's spelled Atlas, but it's pronounced 'Throatwobbler Mangrove'.
