There's also the fact that roughly everyone outside of Kurita who reads these forums has gotten the impression that HK is staffed mostly by lonely-IRL-thus-pompous-to-the-point-of-being-verbally-abusive-here jackasses who snub allies and enemies, casually in the case of the former and in the latter case in ways that come intriguingly close to violating the ToS. Don't forget that one, Derv.

/shrug

That's great and all, but we don't need to rub salt in the wound. I've said all I have to say on the matter and by the end of the day we'll see where Marik and Kurita stand.

I will make this very clear. There are currently ten people who speak for the DCMS High council-

High Council members:
Prophetic
SunshinActual
Mastachang10
Reitmeier
Mah Kraah
Socops

Ambassadors:
Lord Ikka
Reitmeier (he's German and awesome, so two jobs is nothing!)
CrockDaddyAoD
callmejon
Pwnface

Every other poster is expressing a personal opinion only. If you don't like them, don't read them. We don't censor our units' members unless they are clearly violating ToS. Whether or not a person speaks for the High Council is very clear when you look at our list of council members/ambassadors. The council does not express opinions often- it is clearly labeled as a High Council message when it is done.

As have I. Many times before, but this is a succinct enough summary that I'm content to leave it there.

  • An interesting wormhole deep into Kurita space is available to Marik
  • Marik and Kurita agree to experiment with the wormhole. Maybe it will lead to Clan space?
  • After several weeks, the wormhole simply expands in all directions and does not go north despite testing.
  • The Star League is discussed. Ratification should mean no more attacks between Marik/Kurita/Spheroids
  • During this time, the mercenary unit MS and Marik units continue to expand the wormhole in Kurita space.
  • Kurita declines entry into the new Star League as doing so would prohibit them from attacking fed rats (among other reasons)
  • Kurita also decides that the wormhole project is no longer acceptable as too many Kurita worlds have been taken by Marik than expected/agreed upon
  • Some elements of Marik react in surprise when Kurita wants back the worlds taken around the wormhole and state that this will lead to war between their factions. They then threaten Kurita to withhold support on the clan border and accuse Kurita of being arrogant and disrespectful. And Marik is supposed to be the good guys in all this (pushed for the Star League/NAPs).
Did I miss anything?

A few points of Clairifciation.
1. A few days after the Island comes into being, Kurita gets cold feet and asks Marik to stop moving it. We agree. Over a week passes with no activity until Marik convinces the DCMS that the road north heads south.
2. From the beginning, Marik has constantly and consistently stated that it would return all planets in our wake as soon as it moves north.
3.As a show of good faith, Marik convinces a few merc units to head to Kurita to help them fight the Clans. Much of that time is spent fighting alone as Kurita is more interested in beating up on their weaker neighbors.
3. Island experiment continues to go south. Once all southern planets are taken, Marik pilots go over to HK TS to try to organize the most efficient way to flip planets so as not a lot of time has to be spent on the process of attempting it to go north. Many Marik pilots return frustrated as they saw the bulk of HK pilots were on any front that was NOT the Clan front.
4. After one attempt to manipulate the algorithm, DCMS loudly announces that it is "Shutting Down" the wormhole experiment, without any discussion with Marik.
5. Through the bulk of this process, a rogue element is in Marik space that it has little contact with and even less control over. Options are given on how to mitigate this in regards to the island, no response comes from the DCMS.

So you'll see, at no point of this, does the nSL have anything to do with the island. They are mutually exclusive projects. No matter how much some people may want to tie them together, they have nothing to do with each other.

Through the whole process, Marik has been very patient with a sluggish, and young (in the aspect of being an organized faction command) DCMS. At this time, we are abiding with the DCMS decision to halt the advance of the island. But I want to make it very clear that the island has absolutely nothing to do with the nSL. We just view it as a way to put a buffer between Terra and the Clans. Something that the DCMS is either unwilling or unable to do themselves.

I would caution the shitposters on both sides to stop talking about things you have fuckall knowledge about.

I would caution you to *farts loudly into microphone*.

I know I speak for many, whether they can at this time publicly admit it or not, when I tell you to go take a proverbial hike.
Most of your post is utter horsecrap too, with many a veiled threat or accusation or shot at the competence of our faction thrown in, which is pretty ironic coming from the faction that has had the least actual experience fighting anyone. Get lost, you incompetent loudmouthed politicking oaf, and leave war to the warriors. If I have to fall on my sword for this one, I'll do it, but someone needed to say it, with all your not so subtle jabs and insults and threats these last weeks.

Hi Roadbeer.

Thank u for this information.
The fact that the -MS- attacked planets and ignored diplomacy is the past. i´ve heared they´re going back to CGB...

Many Kurita Units attacked the Clans at the "Europe-Time-Zone". (i could not speak for the other timezones).

Fortunately, the game mode has only existing for one entire month more than that, which probably explains why my unit full of new players running trial mechs is already better than anything you can muster.

I'm puttin it down Roadbeer, you picking it up?

We decide not to join big dumb treehouse club. It happen. You declare war, we fight. Good for me. Drama, threats, and posturing all fun. Ultimate result is more good fights in game of robot fighting. Result satisfactory.

If that post gets moderated (and I'm not sure that it would, considering it's in character talk about in game politics, but we'll see, I suppose) your quote will be blank.

I will hand it to them. They are very good at running the meta of the month.

Which are of course builds that do one thing extremely well.
