- An interesting wormhole deep into Kurita space is available to Marik
- Marik and Kurita agree to experiment with the wormhole. Maybe it will lead to Clan space?
- After several weeks, the wormhole simply expands in all directions and does not go north despite testing.
- The Star League is discussed. Ratification should mean no more attacks between Marik/Kurita/Spheroids
- During this time, the mercenary unit MS and Marik units continue to expand the wormhole in Kurita space.
- Kurita declines entry into the new Star League as doing so would prohibit them from attacking fed rats (among other reasons)
- Kurita also decides that the wormhole project is no longer acceptable as too many Kurita worlds have been taken by Marik than expected/agreed upon
- Some elements of Marik react in surprise when Kurita wants back the worlds taken around the wormhole and state that this will lead to war between their factions. They then threaten Kurita to withhold support on the clan border and accuse Kurita of being arrogant and disrespectful. And Marik is supposed to be the good guys in all this (pushed for the Star League/NAPs).
Did I miss anything?
A few points of Clairifciation.
1. A few days after the Island comes into being, Kurita gets cold feet and asks Marik to stop moving it. We agree. Over a week passes with no activity until Marik convinces the DCMS that the road north heads south.
2. From the beginning, Marik has constantly and consistently stated that it would return all planets in our wake as soon as it moves north.
3.As a show of good faith, Marik convinces a few merc units to head to Kurita to help them fight the Clans. Much of that time is spent fighting alone as Kurita is more interested in beating up on their weaker neighbors.
3. Island experiment continues to go south. Once all southern planets are taken, Marik pilots go over to HK TS to try to organize the most efficient way to flip planets so as not a lot of time has to be spent on the process of attempting it to go north. Many Marik pilots return frustrated as they saw the bulk of HK pilots were on any front that was NOT the Clan front.
4. After one attempt to manipulate the algorithm, DCMS loudly announces that it is "Shutting Down" the wormhole experiment, without any discussion with Marik.
5. Through the bulk of this process, a rogue element is in Marik space that it has little contact with and even less control over. Options are given on how to mitigate this in regards to the island, no response comes from the DCMS.
So you'll see, at no point of this, does the nSL have anything to do with the island. They are mutually exclusive projects. No matter how much some people may want to tie them together, they have nothing to do with each other.
Through the whole process, Marik has been very patient with a sluggish, and young (in the aspect of being an organized faction command) DCMS. At this time, we are abiding with the DCMS decision to halt the advance of the island. But I want to make it very clear that the island has absolutely nothing to do with the nSL. We just view it as a way to put a buffer between Terra and the Clans. Something that the DCMS is either unwilling or unable to do themselves.
I would caution the shitposters on both sides to stop talking about things you have fuckall knowledge about.
