Hi folks,
I recently purchased a new laptop with the following specifications
  • 4th Gen Intel Core i7-4710HQ processor
  • 8 GB DDR3 memory
  • NVIDIA GTX 860M graphics with 2GB Ram
  • Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit operating system

By all accounts this machine should run the game with ease. However I am getting frame rate fluctuations between 4 and 14, and experiencing client crashes in every match. The game is unplayable.

I have tried all the settings adjustments, low to high, AA off, etc. I have read the forums, researched all the user config tweaks, nothing has worked.

All drivers are up to date as of February 10 when Nvidia issued the newest update.

I need some serious help with this conundrum. Thanks!

0. Play when connected to AC outlet, not battery
1. Control Panel, Power Options, set to High Performance.
2. Nvidia Panel, Set Power management mode from adaptive to max performance

Have you tried running some benchmarking software to test how the computer compares to others?
First step is to work out if it is just MWO which has problems or the computer itself.
Bad drivers, bad heatsink, bad power saving, wrong bios settings.
