I am not sure how others would see this but from my perspective taking a blue or yellow planet is a territorial attack on Steiner or Davion.

I don't think there is a neccessity to connect to your "island" since there is no logistical disadvantage.

And btw, just getting some enclave "home into the empire", think I heard that one before.

Didn't end well for the guys back then if I remember correctly so you might want to consider your plans here.
