I just came back after almost a year out. And I still have sound issues.
I do not know if they are normal at this point.
Sometimes, I see mechs around me being blasted, but I have no noise feedback. Is that normal?
Oh, and also, on the new jungle map, I heard a horn sound ONCE when a mech died. Like on the older MW4 games when somebody killed someone at an arena.
I hear it ONCE after 3 or so jungle games. So I wonder what is going on there too.
Anybody else with the same issues?

Other than a crapload of sound popping when LRM's or flamers are being fired, its pretty normal.

Upon a round beginning, I can fire and it will sound twice as loud as normal. Then I can fire again and it will sound normal. It's only the first shot. I don't get it, no big deal. It's only the first shot that I make of the round that does it, kinda weird.
I do have one sound complaint though, and that is I get slightly annoyed by that gargled 'meep' sound whenever I mouselook over anything in the mechlab UI after an extended session in those menus. But again, no big deal.

If I'm going to hazard a guess, there might be something wrong with your "sound profile" for your soundcard in Windows. It could simply be like having your system set to 2 Speakers instead of 4 Speakers or 5.1 or even Headphones.
It's just something that seems to be the case and not an artifact of MWO.
The game adapts the sound profile you set up in Windows, and outputs sound accordingly.
Of course, the obligatory "use the MWO Repair Tool" suggestion seems to be in order, but I doubt there's a broken file involved... just a bad sound profile.

Its been a year, buy a nice new sound card to solve your problems, and turn off that junk on-board sound.

AC2 and Ac5 and LBX 10 to a lesser extend, all way way to loud.

Yeah.
I bought over 10 Warhorns on the last deal but hearing them fire off when you kill is .... Rare at best.
Talking about spending money on junk....
