Revert all Centurion arms. The new ones all look terrible.
The old AL arm was awesome too

The old arm was definatly fantastic. I'm trying to find middle a middle ground. Keeping the current design for all ballistics except AC20 which would use old design.

Or, you know... just make it something that the player can choose. Changing out physical parts of 'mech bodies WAS in the game's plan, originally...

That would also be very cool. But I think it would be alot more work on PGI's part and they have their hands full. Simply restoring the old design shouldn't take but a few minutes of work.

I don't see how it would be any more work than suggesting they use two different models depending on loadout. It's still two separate models, either way.

I don't want to be a killjoy, but the catapult was waiting here for much longer than the centurions. First we have to wait until pgi apply the mechlab treatment to all the mechs, then the catapult and after that the centurion and others.

Agreed. Catapult got the shaft as well.

No screenshots, but even the original stock paint scheme (not in stock green) was nice, usually did unit colors with the "Mohawk" in ox blood... Now, in the stock scheme, the "hawk" is striped, wth.

And some of my other favorites are yet to be "cursed" with dynamic hardpoints, the CTF, the DRG, the AWS, and the CDA.

Part of the Cent arm problem is they shrunk the whole arm. The cent arms used to hang even, now the right arm is actually slightly shorter and smaller than the left. The gun scaling isn't just off the whole arm is. It has been since they first introduced the new geometry. To further exacerbate the problem the weapon pod is also too thin to support proper sizing. The Cent never needed the arm size to change. It just needed a dynamic barrel change with an attachment point like on the Enforcer.

Still waiting for PGI to comment on how much, if any the hit box changed with their dynamic weapon pass.

I've come to the conclusion that this was not made for visual fidelity but purely to balance this mech.

Because the YLW was OP.

People were so intimidated by the pure size of my Wang that they ran away, out of bounds. They just can't handle the wang.

My support ticket regarding the YLW and some performance issues was responded to today. Still working on my performance issue so hopefully my inquiries about the YLW we're forwarded to the right spot!

Sorry guys, looks like it's not on the radar anytime soon. Big thanks to Alex G. for stepping up once again and asking the hard questions!

Alex G said:

The hitboxes scale to fit the geometry. So when we did the AC/20 AC/10 re-scale back in February, the hitboxes for those components were also scaled up to match. The same would apply if any geometry is scaled down.

Regarding the YLW....I've just spoken with the art department about it. Unfortunately, the answer isn't what you're hoping for.

There are no plans to revert the YLW back to the original arm style. As cool as it may have looked, the decision was made to standardize the appearance of the AC weaponry for all 'Mechs. Standing the original YLW next to another AC/20-equipped 'Mech was odd-looking from a functional standpoint, and highlighted the fact that the Centurion would be running at a hitbox disadvantage due to the extra geometry compared to other AC/20 loadouts.
