My ping went from 230 (bad) to 307 (unplayable) last Thursday, and it has stayed there ever since.

It's too frustrating to play the game with a ping of 307. I'm pounding away with ACs and Lasers but getting very little damage done. If I get into a circling contest with a Light I may as well just shut down and let him kill me.

Please, I have $1500 in this game, but it's just too frustrating to play with a ping this high.

Note: I realise the sudden recent increase is probably an ISP issue. However, where I live there is only one ISP, and besides, it only accounts for 75ms. The base problem here is the 234 ping due to PGI not having European servers.

yes we need servers in EU for matches at EU primetime. maybe with steam release we have enough players to make such servrs worth to exist.

We don't even need seperated servers, just the matches need to hapen on those local servers.

Yeah the servers can be automatically used when there is enough players, otherwise it just assigns them to the main servers.

Problem is that it is increased cost and PGI needs to be in a business position to justify the cost for hopefully increased Euro players.

If they do ever do a steam release it would be crazy not to setup region servers even if it is just for the first few weeks. When they get an influx of players they need to hold onto as many as possible and good pings will help with that. Hopefully achieve a critical mass to maintain a large enough population to keep the servers online.

I think the Euro slowdown is due to a major cable taking damage weeks ago (nothing to do with PGI, a major world scale problem) and full capacity still not restored.

Because my MWO ping is now so high, I have instead been playing a game called "Grav".

Grav is being coded by a small Indie Studio called Bitmonster, which is a company comprising just six developers.

My ping playing Grav is half that of MWO (150 vs 305).

If an Indie studio of just 6 developers working on an Alpha can provide Euro servers, then PGI can.

Yeah european servers would be great, if there were enough people playing this game.
The last challenge primary objective 2 showed, that there only about 3000 - 3500 people playing this game at peak hours.
So european servers wouldn't be economical viable and you would split the population further, generating even more stress on the not at its best working matchmaker.
So with steam release maybe ther will be enough players to make european serves worthwhile, but I doubt it.
