I agree with him 6 tons lighter ... could be std engine ... could be faster xl engine or std engine ... or even better yet you can use the other hard points!
At least think of it as a few more tons for heat sinks.

Without that dramatic bonus, the ground bound wolverine 6K will go back to never being used.
Edit: we're also going from 1095 max range large pulse, to 1125 max range vanilla larges, and trading 25% cooldown for 15%.

Above picture accurately represents how much of an improvement this is.

It's still not very good.

I had to learn it the hard way, but these days I don't use ML, LL or ERLL anymore. If the quirks no longer favour SPL, MPL or LPL for a variant, I simply have to stop using it. For the 2-3 days per month when hit reg actually works, I can bring them out again.

LL / ER-LL / LPL now dont gen GH, until you fire 4 or more, so you can fire 3 with no GH,
with the new Quriks for +0.20 beam time you get +60 range, at 6 less tons(assuming you have 3),
so its actually not much of a nerf, and you could equip more SHS/DHS, or a larger engine,
is this actually that much of a nerf? will it actually break and make the 6K un-playable?
with this in mind will those extra 6 tons and +0.2 beam duration actually break it?

Look at what the Griffin got?
jack ****.
Its pretty much the Wolverine's twin brother, and it got next to nothing.
And surprise, griffin still gets alot of play, because even without quirks its still badass, just like the Wolverine will continue to be long after your tears have dried.

Long-ranged large pulse lasers were something unique, and gave it a role.
We have so many mechs that do large lasers and ER larges, so why make another at the expense of something else? The pulse wolverine wasn't really good to begin with, but now it's just another meh mech that no one's gonna bother with.

Because when they decided the tiers, jump mechs with good hitboxes obviously weren't considered low tier. Thus the shadowhawk and griffin got few buffs, and are still on top of the world, while things like the cent and locust got massive improvements.
Same for the jumpless wolverine.
