Sneak Peek: Panther & Enforcer

Enforcer-5P already looks rough, Sean's build is a lighter Jager mounting dual/triple UAC but with no laser backup though both ACs can be mounted on one side for a shield arm. An Energy boat 4R gives a shield arm. That 5D build is very much like the Hunchback-4H I used to run but faster, no easy to hit RT and could be slowed down for JJ.
I wonder if quirks of the 4 we do not know are hinted at through Sean's builds. Adders & Hunchback-4Gs are easy to deal with.
My poor Ballistic Hunchbacks look to become lower in use, possibly the Centurion as well.
Honestly, there should be time spent at least resizing the Trebuchet this year.

Actually I'd prefer that, over the over-glossed Urbanmech we are getting soon. The trashcan quality is what made the Urbie so endearing to me in the first place.

more likely to fight a Jenner, Firestarter, Locust, or Raven rather than an Adder to be honest.
Again, those are not clan mechs and this is part of the resistance pack. Besides, the Adder is pretty capable so long as you don't play it like a Locust. And if you can keep track of your opponent.

I know, I love my adder<3
but the pilot didn't play very well and clearly its just as "fight promo" for the thing, I think it will be out classed and shredded by other IS lights.
Just like the Enforcer will just be a less survivable centurion.

Thank you for taking the time to do these previews Sean. I know I enjoy getting in depth info on the upcoming mechs, as does everyone else here on the forums.

Build
The drawbacks? Only two energy hardpoints are in the side torso, with the 3rd needing to be in the left arm. Not a big problem, as it allows for an asymmetrical build anyway. The mounts are also not as high as in the Shadowhawk, except for one hardpoint. That's a bigger deal. The last is that the 5D has no meaningful energy quirks besides duration.
The 5P simply can't do this build at all. It's going to be a struggle to turn it into a good mech when stuck with 4 ballistics and only 1 energy hardpoint. I sense... chronic ammo shortages.

Again, there is a UAC5 quirked Shawk, that does it without XL engine.

edit: And an ERPPC and 2x SRM4 Panther will likely win vs a 2ERLL or 2 ERPPC Adder if it can get close...
The only thing that I see that might/will be a problem for the Panther is the lack of ecm compared to the Kit Fox.
But the best part for today will be, I can finally play some heavies and assaults again!

It will solve the problem of people crying DOA if the new mechs lost to a meta mech, or scream OP if it beats the meta mech.
We also get to see how it move from pilot's view and as a live target.

Whut?
I predict most will run one of the below builds
PNT-10K - 2xERPPC
PNT-10K - ERPPC + 2xSRM4
PNT-8Z - 3xLL
PNT-8Z - 2xLL + 2xSRM4
PNT8Z - 1xLL + 2xML + 2xSRM4
PNT-9R 2xPPC
PNT-9R 2xLPL
PNT-9R LPL+3xMPL
The last 9R build is pretty tenuous tbh, partly because anything trying to run small energy is just done better on a firestarter (or at 5 tons heavier a cicada with ECM). gotta build to the quirks or the mech is just a bad firestarter.
Do NOT see anyone using 1PPC and 1LL, thats just silly - you are going to lose both weapons at once regardless, and why handicap yourself with 2 different firing profiles when you dont have to?

Great idea. 2 of the same mech and both players can record gameplay and upload a split video between the 2 points of view.

The Enforcer feels a bit fragile for a 50 tonner, but it's an otherwise decent mech, save for the 5P. I've only found two builds I liked for the 5P, and both aren't all that viable. That being said, both the Panther and Enforcer act as firesupport. They wait until the enemy is otherwise engaged, swoop in and make as much damage happen as possible so their teammates can survive. The Enforcer is especially team reliant, due to it's fragility, but there's no joke about what the 5D and 4R can bring to the field. The Panther is just a monster, I've already seen one mounting 2 PPC's and popping around plastering people, so there's 'nuff said about it.

It had so much potential given the preview art...but somehow I just knew the Panther was going to be amazing looking and the Enforcer would be...well, what it is. Glad I "resisted" buying it. I was hoping to spend some cash on MWO again, but after what was/was not done on the Enforcer. NOPE.
