How about

-15% energy heat generation
AND
-15% MPL heat generation?

That would make my Wubgoyle paint the town red (or try to miserably).

Quirks might change that.

Yeah, I'm sure it will get super powerful quirks like the other awful clan mechs. +5% energy cooldown! -2.5% ballistic heat! +1.03% missile range! Done, mech is quirked and is now perfectly balanced, just like the Nova, Mist Lynx, Ice Ferret, etc.

I forgot what mech this was, it was pushed to the back of my mind so I had to click on the thread to see the deal..

What has been seen cannot be unseen.

To chime in, don't buy this easily amongst worst of clan mechs. You will fear Awesomes, Battlemasters, and Stalkers let alone anything heavier than you. Its role as a fast assault doesn't even play out, as CW shows it irrelevance. poor low mounted hardpoints and a body that attracts erPPCs

Agree with the many previous posts that say it needs some big quirks

This could be a decentish 'Mech if it moved like a heavy, but it still moves like an Atlas even though it has a XL400 in it.

You can build it like a TW, Hell about the only decent build I had any semblance of success with was 5ERMLAS + GR (same as the meta TW) but the weapon placements and lack of agility make it not even comparable. Hell, the Hellbringer does pretty much anything the Gargoyle can do better, and with ECM.

Even with such a large engine it doesn't move right.
Hopefully quirks can fix this ungainly beast.

The abbreviation is GAR, for GARBAGE.

Pushed to the limit, you can perform well... but at the end of the day... it is only a gigantic piece of GARbage-Prime.

I like the Gargoyle, I really do. I like the idea of a fast brawling assault, running at 89.1kph with a heavy loadout of energy.

The problem is, there are mechs that do nearly the same thing, only better. The Hellbringer has high mounted torso hardpoints, and can potentially carry more weapons, ECM, but doesn't have as many DHS. The Timberwolf can simply do everything the Gargoyle can, only better. No real comparison.

Because the Gargoyle is stuck with 6 DHS in the engine, that's 6 tons it can never use for a ballistic build, flushing useful ballistics options down the toilet. Since there are no decent missile hardpoints on any omnipods, that forces it to effectively run only energy.

It doesn't have enough staying power or good enough hitboxes to survive long in a brawl, and is simply too big for an 80 tonner, drawing too much fire when it shows up.

I've had luck running it with LPL and MPL, and sometimes ERML, but the Hellbringer and Timberwolf just do it better. Energy quicks, a smaller resize, and perhaps structure/armor buffs will help it become something more than the joke it currently is among the community.

It's not bad with just ML and MPL. Has a lot of armor and moves on the faster side. If you play it like a medium, it's not bad. Had a few 1K games with them. Just requires some more TLC and work.

Fellow Mechwarriorrs AVOID buying this mech!

I got it with the CW2 pack and It is by far the worst mech I have played thus far. Its only hope is if they heavy quirk it.

If this could mount 12 jumpjets it would be like a larger more crappy version of the Spider-5V.

Sad as it is I actually love my Gargoyle mechs now. People get a bit over confident when engaging them and forget they have a lot of armour and heatsinks for in your face engagements.

This non-meta mech and build does surprisingly well for me. A lot of that is probably due to the person I'm engaged with can't see me from all the shaking and flashing.

I may have to try that build - though I tend more toward LBx2 rather than Ultra.

For me it is all about 12 SPL or 12 CERSL.

Been running the LBxAC20 builds
(4ERML 1AC20)

Works pretty well since that LBx has ridiculously tight spread - and I move fast enough to maintain the close range required
