Those weak or clowny mechs is all he is able to use right now. and even if they weren't, that's irrelevant.

Sorry but I don't agree.

That's right Kilo!

CW is serious business, it isn't about having fun or experimenting with new builds. Its about running the most effective meta that gives you that 3% extra effectiveness in combat over something else.

CW players have no time for new players looking for a deeper experience to play and try. They are a liability to the high stakes game of planetary control in some game mode, in beta, that really doesn't mean anything (and will probably get reset when it goes live). The stakes are huge!

:)

I lol'd.

You don't agree that he only has trial mechs available to him? well I'm sure you could post up the proof that he's lying.

Or that you don't agree that the topic is about players berating new players? In that case I suppose you could post what teh REAL OP was talking about. because teh OP i read was about players berating new players.

As someone with lots of experience working customer service where the attitudes of the people you deal with often resembles that of said entitled "Richard Camerons" my favored response to whining "pros" tends to go along the line of:

"Your complaint has been registered and forwarded to the proper department. Please expect an answer within 2 - 3 business days and remember that your opinion is important to us."

I don't agree that it is irrelevant. People playing CW shouldn't be forced to carry beginners bringing 3/4 trial mechs.

new players shouldn't be berated for taking the only mechs available to them. It's hardcore mode remember? you don't always get what you want.

Please let me interrupt ...

The OP obviously does not seem to mind the hard mode nature of CW because he did say he enjoys it. He is talking about the pieces of human excrement that complain about him bringing trial mechs.

I say they can all go fly a kite.

Ah ok, yea, **** those guys lol CI ( Comstar Irregulars) dont ***** when you bring a trial/champion mech. I dont have lights or mediums in clans so I have to do just that and they never said anything. Maybe you just have to find the right group to drop with

I like the letter.

Now running trial mechs in CW. I have done it, other members of the Warpigs have done it and we all have more than enough mechs. We also have some new members and players to MWO that use the trials till they get more mechs.

If you use the trials then, GLHF.

I can understand people bitchin when 3 or 4 people get less than 150 damage from their 4 mechs combined whilst defending in CW, because they're newbs, in trial mechs & dont understand the mechs, maps & cohesive teamplay. Youre decreasing their opportunity to win and making it less fun for them

If you don't show up to play CW with a full team of 12, then you have no right to complain about who you get.

Edit: Actually this applies to all game modes.

All I'm going to say is that I wouldn't dream of bringing a sub-par dropship to a CW match. I would consider it insulting to my fellow teammates.

You're right, people shouldn't be abusive in game, at that point he is in the game and nothing anyone can do, including him, will change that (other than disconnecting, which obviously doesn't help). I will never call someone out in chat, i don't see the point. but you can bet ill be bitching about it in teamspeak, much like when i spectate that 100% LRM atlas thats the last one alive on my team, lobbing missiles happily into a wall.

The trial is not mastered, as far as i know, even if the player has all the unlocks on his own SCR-PRIME, the trial will still run as if no basics unlocked. I think.

And so because the trial si bale to rack up xp, I think it should be able to also benefit from the skills.

You can easily test this, refit one mech to stock loadout, run them in the testing ground, do they same when at 100% speed have the same heat %? if yes the trial si affected, if no it's not

I find that berating a new player for using the only mechs available to them, in a game mode they have every right to participate in, insulting to my team, the other team, and the entire community.

Or just take a Prime trial of a chassis you have elited, and see if it moves 81 or 89 kph in training grounds.....

If you have a ****** attitude toward people who are new to the game, expect to drive those players away.

Good post! I've been saying this for a while that MWO's worst issue is their fanboys and elitists that ruin new player experience.

Sadly, until you get into a higher ELO rating (read: better players) you'll be stuck with the chaff that think they are great but in reality are what I like to call 'xbox kiddies'. Their language is limited to certain expletives and their parents forgot to raise them proper.

My advice to you is get into a good unit and drop with people interested in helping you. There is a subthread on this forum for recruiting. You'll never look back.

EDIT: Apparently CW doesn't use ELO. Well, in that case, there may not be a reprieve other than getting into a proper unit. :\

Yeah, I'm going to bring trial 'Mechs to Clan Warfare. Why? BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING ELSE. I've been on winning teams and contributed decently. You don't like it because we lose to an entire 12-man? Don't blame it on the "pubbers" who bring trial 'Mechs without ECMs - perhaps YOU should have brought the ECMs. Better yet, maybe you should realize that in a pug against a cohesive 12-man unit, we're likely going to get stomped regardless.

I know it's hard for you to think outside your own, self-centered little world, but you know being a good sport and - dog forbid, NICE to someone else - doesn't have to go hand-in-hand with winning, right? You know that, right?

But hey, if you want to keep people from supporting MWO and turning this game into an even tougher sell than it already is, by all means, keep being {Richard Cameron} (I have no idea who Richard Cameron is, but I'm sure the forum had a good reason for autocorrecting whatever word was there to that). That'll work nicely.

Please note: If this doesn't apply to you as an MWO Vet, then I'm obviously not talking about you; I've certainly run across a few helpful, decent human beings here. However, there seem to be an inordinate number of clownshoes running around, so if this does apply to you, then by all means, take it to heart.

Unfortunately...welcome to online gaming.
