I've been trying to get the in-game VoIP going but it seems to not like me. It is enabled, settings on. Tried messing with some of the settings with no luck. I have the mic working in Skype, Mumble, TS, Vent, etc... just not here.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

edit: Got it to work. Turned it off and on. Then raised my Record Level dB to 16. Apparently I was very light and no one could hear.

Sorry I haven't found a fix, but I thought I'd let you know you aren't the only one having an issue.

UPDATE: Turning off chat completely saving then turning it back on fixed it for me. Hope that helps.

Make sure you have the correct device set, and try changing the key binding... also, raising the gain in the settings.

Same for me. It was all working fine yesterday, but today:

-I have no audio icon next to my game in the match starting screen
-I can hear my team in my headphones, but can't talk back
-I've tried deactivating & reactivating the voip setting, also changing devices from 'default' to my headset, none of that has worked
-checked & tested in Windows, headset is working properly and set up correctly, exactly as it was yesterday.

Have only had one game session today, so I'll try rebooting and restarting the game, will post if anything changes.

Ah, I know now that it's normal not to have a speaker icon for yourself, they only show for your teammates.

Anyway, I rebooted, triple checked my headphone & mic settings and ran MWO again and it's all working fine for me now. Nothing else to add as none of my settings have changed. Hope the rest of you can get it working.

I have seen several teammates without it - I figured that meant they had it turned off.

The speaker icon indicates other players have VOIP enabled, as well as that is how you mute a player. I have not seen a player without the icon yet but good to know if it is not there that player as disabled VOIP.

I do not know for sure that the lack of it means they have it disabled

I disabled mine though (in part because I have no audio on my PC right now - pointless I know :P)
So if anyone sees me in match and I lack it - we may know for sure. ^_^

Just another update. I have a sound blaster audio card. If I turn off the software it works fine.

Needs self test option like TS3... So people can verify the sound quality and volume.

Something to add as mine briefly stopped working again, not sure if this will be relevant to anyone else...

I've got my monitors hooked up to my PC via DVI, and my main TV in a different room hooked up via HDMI. I play MWO on one monitor at the computer, then if I want to do something on the TV I switch displays via the Nvidia control panel. Windows automatically changes my sound playback device to match the display I've chosen (to my TV when I switch to TV; to my PC speakers when I switch back to monitor). It's when I've switched back and forth like this, that MWO seems to lose VOIP. 'Default communication device' in Windows' sound settings never changes, my headset always works fine in Windows, but if I've switched displays back and forth my VOIP will be gone in MWO. If I reboot the computer with my monitor as the active display and do not switch before loading up MWO, it works again.

Don't know if that's any help, maybe something to do with changes to Windows sound playback device? Just to clarify, my sound playback device changes when I switch displays, but my default comms device does not, it always stays set to my headset.

I also think an in-game test would be good.

Question: does anything shows up on screen while you are transmitting?

I am unable to put this to work as well. Tried the on/off save thing, but to no avail.

Already seen there is.
Got it working with the official guide.
