Also i like clans that don't share their occupied zone with any other clan and their is only one clan that can make that claim, Clan Jade Falcon. Steel Viper? Nope! We kicked them out of the occupation zone after the war of refusal, and Ice Hellion....we beat their temper tantrum invasion so bad that they ended up being absorbed by clan Goliath scorpion I can at least understand sharing the occupation zone with another clan like clan wolf and clan hells horse did, but sharing a zone with an IS faction; the FRR....that is ludicrous

The hells horse launched a successful invasion of clan wolf, clan jade falcon territories and made their capital at cseszterg. (a wolf planet) Thus they shared several planets, it was actually the only other truly successful invasion by a former homeworld clan since operation revival, if you count operation revival as "successful"
The ghost bears shared their zone first with diamond shark and then when relations became cordial with the FRR allowed the Kungsarme into their territory, in fact by the end of the dark age most of the ghost bear dominion was made up of the kungsarme...meaning that GB pretty much cease being a clan. The entire clan story arc in a lot of the dark age novels is the clans ceasing to be clans, Khan Jana Pryde was on her way to doing it with jade falcon but was stopped by Malvina Hazen

A few of the Clan ideals can also be interpreted differently from person to person so it's really as Marack has said (as strange as it seems in a game) a deeply personal choice. Especially if BattleTech has been in the blood long enough.
Even some the IS players who have BT in their blood will have their specific reasons for staying true to their faction. I think it's good to take pride in it especially if there's a good reason behind that pride.
