Has anyone bought one of these packages?

It seems to me that one of these would be the way to go IF you thought you might like the chassis offered.

You get a Hero, a Champion and 1 other mech, plus mech bays plus some premium time, yes?

For a new player, this really seems to be the way to go to get that 3 needed mechs for the skill trees and master slots opened. The Bays included would save your 'starter' bays, plus you get premium time allowing for xtra cbills / xp to get the mechs up through the elite ranks as quickly as possible. Saving those cbills for changes / upgrades / new mechs...

Feedback?

edited for spelling master has an "S" in it...duh

They are a great deal IF the pack you pick includes decent mechs. The firestarter pack for instance is excellent. I guess just make sure you like a chassis before buying the mastery.
The 30 days of premium time will help a lot though and you practically get it for free.

I've picked up the Firestarter, Centurion and Stalker packs and haven't regretted it. Well worth it if you're trying to build up your mech stable, just try out the mechs if you can to get a feel for how they handle what and sort of builds they tend to run to see if it's something you'd enjoy.

Yep good value.
Some packs (firestarter for example) give you the XL engine needed, two of the mechs with the expensive upgrades paid for.
Eliminates the beginner "can't afford XL and DHS and Endo" troubles.
Premium time = faster cbills and XP.
Great platform to get a headstart as a beginner. Won't suffer the poor newbie grind.

i got the firestarter pack. the jump from paying for 30 days premium time to getting a mastery pack is tiny.

you get three bays as well! I dont even play IS 'mechs and I had to get one.

Unless heroes are on sale, always buy mastery pack instead of buying them solo. Too much benefits for only a little extra.

Atlas Bundle 10,265
  • Boarshead: 7500
  • RS(C): 4685
  • SUBTOTAL: 12185
so, buy the hero and the champion at a discount, you get a standard variant, 3 mechbays, and a month of premium time basically for free...The math works similar on almost all the bundles, if you want the hero and the champion, get the pack...no brainer.

If you do want to go Assault, the Stalker mastery pack is very worthwhile.

For a smaller investment, the Hunchback pack is good too, with the Grid Iron and 4P being really great mechs, and the 4SP being an all-round solid one as well. It's cheap as well, which is always a plus.

I had gotten the Firestarter one, like most people are saying, it is a good deal based on the prices for things individually.

The bundles are some of the best things you can use your MC on, besides mechbays and possible xp exchanges Get one!

We need a hero mech for a few of the reamining IS mechs, like the Thunderbolt, also the resistance mechs should get one each, someday.
