Why is PGI ignoring the poor Victor owners? Am I the only one who think that they need a armor quirk to their side tursos? After what they did, and later removing the nerfs, do they think that the Victor is in a good position right now? I still remember them having a sale on the DS and then hearing the Devs laughing in one of the Dev logs when they where talking about the best "Hero Mechs". A week later all the Victors moved just like a stock Atlas. Then they nerfed ballistic weapons. Now they just ignore the Victor chassis, last I heard it was called a tier 1. I think that is the biggest joke on MWO yet! Maybe they got hit over the head with their own nerf bat! Have you tried to take on a Timber in a Vic? If you have please tell us about it! I would love to hear what your thoughts are about the present state of the Victors- You too PGI!

Just like adding the new meta, PGI likes hating on the old meta.

Atlas and Victors both need armor buffs.

Apparently PGI still thinks the CTF-3D is an elite mech, just like all Victors. My, how the times have changed.

I really have no cue why PGI would think that the Victor is a tier 1 mech. They sure haven't played in one for quite a while otherwise they would have to admit that they made yet another mistake about the Victor!

Probably because that tier list was made during the summer when poptarts were still being nerfed.

Yeah, that list was made before the last set of JJ nerfs, and PPC velocity nerf wasn't even out the door yet.

Without either of those two, Victor just doesn't have much to rely on.

Laser duration 8%, Ballistic cooldown 5%..
Nobody plays the vic, and it isn't because of quirks..

Maybe but that's been how long now? Have you tried to take on a Timber with a Victor lately? What a joke! At it's best the Victor dies quite easily due to it's XL. While the Timber limps away with a turso missing.....(I did say at best for the Vic)

Out of all the assults the Vic needs the LFE perhaps the most.

Yeah I just play them out of nostalgia. Have a lot of fun in both the DS and my 80 kph 9S, but in the end there are more effective options :/

Highlander and CTF-3D are in the same boat, I wonder if the structure buffs to the 3D will make a difference.

Maybe my ELO with assault mechs is still low but I just finished grinding out Victors and got some pretty nice results with this build after I stopped being a dweeb and getting focus fired to death while playing my shiny new assault mech.

Also, the 9B had its +7.5% laser duration quirk corrected to -7.5% in this patch, so I don't think they're being ignored exactly.

The guy is a close range support mech so good luck trying to make it a first line unit.

I feel like my Victor build wasn't part of the meta and the nerfs hit it the hardest. I played an AC20, 2 ML, 3 SRM4 build brawler and when they nerfed it's movement, agility, and jump jets in general it made "unconventional builds" even more obsolete.

I'm ready for them to revisit them, they are far from a tier 1 mech.

I don't know if you (or other people in the thread) are aware but those movement & agility nerfs were reverted with the 1st quirk pass, which must be partly why PGI would still consider Victors to be tier 1. Of course, the jumpjets are still toned down and could maybe use more of a buff for heavier mechs, particularly the Highlander, but jumpjets were obviously out of hand before PGI revisited them.

The 9S seems to be in a good place, I got 4 kills in mine earlier.(while taking a pounding) The Victors will never "feel" right, because JJ have been nerfed. Same with the Highlanders, the niche the mechs are designed for doesn't exist anymore. Hence why Stalkers and Banshees rule the IS assaults.

Yep and the Victors are closer to a tier 3 than a 2 or 1. It's about time that they got some love after the buttreeming they got just because they moved like a Timberwolf!

In it's prime the Vic could hold it's own against a Timber, but with the weapon nerf, and the jj nerf, it doesn't stand a chance..

After the agility penalties were removed, the non-poptart VTR builds were about on par with other IS mechs... or would have been, if no other IS mechs had quirks. But when you're in a mech with slightly above average agility (most of the Victor's nimbleness was due to jumpjets granting too much thrust on one jet, and being able to turn on a dime with it) and no weapon or health buffs facing down another IS assault that has 30% faster fire rate, generates 30% less heat, has shorter laser burn times, and +40 internal structure in the torsi, well, you're SOL.

The Victor still has good hitboxes, so it's definitely salvageable, but it's certainly not competitive anymore.
