Herm...single heavy ballistic + 2 CERPPC's or 2 CLPL +1 ton of ammo?

Or lasers for the win...

I will be using that -D RA and packing 6 SPLs in it with a torso mounted Gauss rifle.

Cheetah won't be all that great, it's going to be a very very hot mech if people laser vomit build it. If they don't then you essentially have an ice ferret that dies in 1 hit. Sulphurous it's going to be not very useful as a great example.

Shadowcat surprised me with the P variant, the 6 MGs, with some Lasers could be quite the lethal clan mech not suffering from typical heat issues and perhaps highest sustained clan Damage mech(other than DW UAC) when it has ammo and range.

Ebon Jag, Mini timber,(Edit: No JJs :P), End and FF eating up space (same as timber) and less internal heatsinks than timber, need an Endo without FF, large engine mech. In the end it will just run a tad hotter than current timber although you can get 1 more energy wep in there...but 2 less heat sinks.

Executioner I'm pretty much with the others thinking it will be very Warhawkish, but it will probably improve with weapon diversification and beat it. Direwolf with the new variants will be better due to more slots free where this has FF eating up valuable space. Depends how MASC works, i'm guessing heat penalty 86+speed tweak that's an insane assault that will outclass dire in most battles, being an attacker in CW with a dire...sucks.

The Shadowcat has always struck me as a fun mech, but I don't see why people think it's going to be so good. I mean, I'm not complaining. I like the Shadowcat for what is. But it has a serious hardpoint problem to be competitive in MWO, I think. You're not scaring anyone with 2 large lasers and 1 medium pulse lasers, or whatever you're going to slap on it. It's a bigger Adder, with ECM.

I think it'll fall under the Stormcrow as far as power goes, but when you look at the other clan choices for mediums, the Nova and the Ice Ferret, the Shadow Cat might as well be a god among mechs. It might be short on hardpoints, but those hard points are well placed, unlike the Adder. And ECM isn't something to be sneezed at, people figured the KitFox to be DOA until we found out we were getting the C arm pod. The Adder however got no ECM, and it's considered among the worst mechs, while not exactly being wildly different from the Kit.

Ebon Jag, Mini timber, with hard locked JJs pretty much puts summoner to even more shame for 5 tonnes less, agree it probably won't beat timber.

Except the Ebon Jaguar doesn't have jumpjets, and has more podspace than the timber Wolf.

Agreed on the Shadow Cat.

I predict:

Arctic Cheetah to become best Clan Light
Shadow Cat to become clear #2 Clan Medium
Ebon Jaguar is harder--depends on how much an individual values ECM. Will be either #2 or considered tied for #2 with Hellbringer, #3 at worst and far ahead of the lowly Mad Dog and Summoner\
Executioner will be #3 Assault

First thoughts: I'm glad i didn't waste my money on the resistance mechs. It was pretty close.

The Executioner seems pretty terribad, though. Looking like the Cauldron-Born Package for me.

EJ won't have to expose a human-shaped target before it can get its guns to clear terrain.

I thought the executioner was going to suck, but it has giant shield arms, so as long as you take the weapons out of the arms and stuff them into the torsos, you might have a real mech. Looks like for some variants you're going to have to stuff the right side with weapons and give up the entire left side as a shield.

It's going to have a lot of good loadouts. You'll have the 2B RT and 1E LT, which means you can't have an insane torso loadout like the Banshee. Obviously you're going to want your big weapons in the torso mounts, but you're going to have to take arm weapons. Luckily we get the 7E RA so the second you show the upper half of your mech you can unleash an entire Timber Wolf of firepower from that arm alone.

Arctic Cheetah: 6E & ECM. Assuming its hitboxes don't suck (and it's humanoid, why would they?), I'll never drive anything else.

The Wave III pack is going to triple the amount of Clanz OP Prana Plz Nerf threads overnight.

The Arctic Cheetah, by itself, is going to double the light queue. You can get 6E with ECM and 6x light 'Mech jump jets (i.e. jump jets that actually jump) going 142kph. My God, man. My God. Ankles will never be safe again. Calling it now - 6x C-SPL Arctic Cheetahs are going to chew off ALL THE LEGS. Firestarters will no longer have free rein to do whatever they like to Clan formations - the Cheetah's going to see to that, oh yes it is.

The Shadow Cat looks like it'll potentially be an interesting guerrilla fighter, sort of a Clan Blackjack. It's got ECM as well, and looks like it's keeping its high-mounted guns. It's as fast as a Doomcrow and with jump jets to boot. It's not going to match the Doomcrow in a straight-up gunfight, of course, but I could honestly very easily see it turning into a very respectable peek-and-poke champ. As close as the Clans currently have to a CDA-3M, and I know very well what a properly fitted CDA-3M can do. Or could do back in the day, anyways. It's going to be a less mainstream choice than the Crow, but at ten less tons, I can definitely see it finding a solid niche.

The Ebon Jaguar/Cauldron-Born (this is one instance where I hate having to use the Clan name. Cauldron Born is such a great name for a 'Mech, and Ebon jaguar is so...not >_<) is festooned with hardpoints and looks to have retained most of the excellent geometry of the TT art. You can get 8E on it for Claservomit, four of those E above cockpit level, or alternatively mix in a solid array of B and M hardpoints placed most anywhere you want them. It gets both Endo and Ferro, it's as agile as all the other Clan heavies...I see this easily being a Tier 2 or even potentially Tier 1 wrecker. No, it's not a Tier 0 do-everything lord of war a'la the Timber Wolf, but it's going to be a very solid 'Mech that will definitely make an impact on fights.

The Executioner...well, beyond the madhouse D variant, honestly looks a bit like Gargoyle Mk. II. Big and tall, fairly anemic hardpoints built around Clan assault notions of smaller numbers of hard-hitting weapons (which...does not work...in MWO), and without even the Gargoyle's thin advantage of unusually high speed for its weight class. it can jump*, but it's slinging eight tons of Highlander-style HoverJets. So...eight tons of boulder-clearing ability. Sweet?

That said, that D variant is insanity. You can cram 13E on an Executioner with the E pods. 13E. That's Dire Whale level Claservomit moving at Warhawk speeds with HoverJets for moderately improved mobility, and also 95-tonner armor and whatever benefits M.A.S.C. brings. The D variant alone means this thing is going to be an unholy menace, even if its total weight of armament is anemic.

Overall? Yeah...as soon as I get back home tonight I'll be opening my wallet again (and feeling very badly for jumping on the Wave II stuff, in retrospect). 'Mech addiction claims another hundred and twenty victims. God damnit MWO. God damnit.

A *****, too? If yes you're seriously in love.

Edit: oops that got censored. It's all in good humour. I'm in love with the Arctic Cheetah even without any concept art.

Wave 3 is>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Wave 2, that is for sure.

Strange that Wave 2 brought Ice Ferret and Mist Lynx and Wave 3 brings the two 'mechs that were actually designed to replace them and effectively WILL replace them in MWO.
