The Wave III pack is going to
triple the amount of Clanz OP Prana Plz Nerf threads overnight.
The Arctic Cheetah, by itself, is going to double the light queue. You can get 6E with ECM and 6x light 'Mech jump jets (i.e. jump jets that actually
jump) going 142kph. My God, man. My God. Ankles will never be safe again. Calling it now - 6x C-SPL Arctic Cheetahs are going to chew off ALL THE LEGS. Firestarters will no longer have free rein to do whatever they like to Clan formations - the Cheetah's going to see to that, oh yes it is.
The Shadow Cat looks like it'll potentially be an interesting guerrilla fighter, sort of a Clan Blackjack. It's got ECM as well, and looks like it's keeping its high-mounted guns. It's as fast as a Doomcrow and with jump jets to boot. It's not going to match the Doomcrow in a straight-up gunfight, of course, but I could honestly very easily see it turning into a very respectable peek-and-poke champ. As close as the Clans currently have to a CDA-3M, and I know very well what a properly fitted CDA-3M can do. Or could do back in the day, anyways. It's going to be a less mainstream choice than the Crow, but at ten less tons, I can definitely see it finding a solid niche.
The Ebon Jaguar/Cauldron-Born (this is one instance where I hate having to use the Clan name. Cauldron Born is such a great name for a 'Mech, and Ebon jaguar is so...not >_<) is festooned with hardpoints and looks to have retained most of the excellent geometry of the TT art. You can get 8E on it for Claservomit, four of those E above cockpit level, or alternatively mix in a solid array of B and M hardpoints placed most anywhere you want them. It gets both Endo and Ferro, it's as agile as all the other Clan heavies...I see this easily being a Tier 2 or even potentially Tier 1 wrecker. No, it's not a Tier 0 do-everything lord of war a'la the Timber Wolf, but it's going to be a very solid 'Mech that will definitely make an impact on fights.
The Executioner...well, beyond the madhouse D variant, honestly looks a bit like Gargoyle Mk. II. Big and tall, fairly anemic hardpoints built around Clan assault notions of smaller numbers of hard-hitting weapons (which...does not work...in MWO), and without even the Gargoyle's thin advantage of unusually high speed for its weight class. it can jump*, but it's slinging eight tons of Highlander-style HoverJets. So...eight tons of boulder-clearing ability. Sweet?
That said, that D variant is insanity. You can cram 13E on an Executioner with the E pods. 13E. That's Dire Whale level Claservomit moving at Warhawk speeds with HoverJets for moderately improved mobility, and also 95-tonner armor and whatever benefits M.A.S.C. brings. The D variant alone means this thing is going to be an unholy menace, even if its total weight of armament is anemic.
Overall? Yeah...as soon as I get back home tonight I'll be opening my wallet again (and feeling very badly for jumping on the Wave II stuff, in retrospect). 'Mech addiction claims another hundred and twenty victims. God damnit MWO. God damnit.
