Nova, Viper..etc..
If they kept it to original art, there would be outrage on torso twist problem, so they
solved that problem, much like in MW4 or later editions of TT.

Mega sadface.
Russ told me on Twitter that the CB concept art should be coming this week. The rest will be before March 11, but obviously that's too late for early bird

I want to be super-duper OCD sure of whether or not they'll be similar to Jagermech or BJ arms in that regard.

I think the Cauldron born's art will be done before the deadline. and the shadcat looks like it will be in a similar area when it comes to arms vs cockpit height.

Now there is no way the CB is supposed to stand that tall.
I think your getting fooled by the angle. Dont sweat it.

With some lateral movement at the top, to allow turning, the Ebon Jaguar (Cauldron Born) was originally designed as an Ambush Predator.
The design with the arms and legs both coming off the shoulders, allowed it to fold flat, sitting on its 'belly' and effectifly hiding the mech, allowing it to spring up and assault easily.
This came at the expense of Torso Twist, and quick turning.
The IS Bushwhacker was built on the same idea.
Just accept that that is not going to happen. They didn't do it with the nova, because if they had the mech would have been useless in this game. They won't do it with this one either. what happens in the books and in the lore and in the tabletop schematics is great, but people need to accept that there is a lot of that that cannot translate into a live action multi player game. It just can't.

I usually do, but wow, have you seen the ice ferrit? It's easily the ugliest mech in the game. It looks absolutely awful. I understand that that's pretty much what it's supposed to look like, which is why I'm generally for giving the design team more freedom in mech design. There are a lot of original designs in battletech that are flat out ugly as ****.

Don't worry, if we ever get the Viper, it will take many titles from the Ice Ferret, including ugliest mech in MWO as the Viper is the ugliest mech in Battletech.

Was just saying why the original design was like that.
So long as it's still reasonably short, I'm fine with that.

That is a beautiful model modification. If the MWO version is similar (with more squat shoulder pods) I will be in heaven. I do not mind the mech being a little taller. It is the in-line arms-to-cockpit and high mounted shoulder pods that make the mech fantastic. If you can see someone, you can shoot someone.
The Ebon Jag was my flagship mech in MW4, and, long before that, I fell in love with its artwork from the novels:
Such a sleek, sexy beast.
I agree, someone forward that miniature pic to Russ. Tell him "do this, except make the torso pods hug closer to the mech, and then scale it right! Should be no taller then the cockpit glass(bottom of it) of the TBR."
If they deliver, all will be good. If they give us a new torso plopped down on catapult legs, people will be raging.

yea but look at the Executioner! its so perfect. I'm sure the Cauldron-born and the others will be as well. Cheetah is humanoid so now like they can mess up that bad. Cauldron-born will probably be similar to the madcat, and the catapult and they are beautiful. Shadow cat...ehh....I guess it couldn't be worse.

That's the whole point of the mech vs the bringer after all.

I dont mind the EJ being a bit taller, as long as its arms are high mounted. The legs on that mini wouldnt work, literally, they dont have knees.
The legs need to be about 1.5-2x the amount of bend that they are not, its just too tall by the silhouette. If it was just 'crouched' more it would be perfect, as the silhouette looks great in every other way besides the legs lifting it too high.
