1. This is the year 3050, they should be able to fix things a lot faster than 2015. You shouldn't think of what they can do in the same way as today.

2. If it improves gameplay, I'm for it. Gameplay comes first IMO.

On the other hand: You are not a person that can be healed at the wave of a hand by drinking a potion or walking over a first-aid kit.
1. BT is still some kind of combat-simulator.
2. The slow grind as enemies slowly shoot each other apart, that's the feeling of BT. That won't come up if you can simply shoot and heal and shoot and heal and shoot and heal. That would be no different from giving Battlemechs forcefields.

Take a look at a Formula 1 race: How long does it take to change the tires and refill the gas on a race-car? 10 seconds?
How long would it take to replace busted parts of the frame? Another 10 seconds? A minute?
Now, how long would it take if that car were designed to withstand explosions?

In the tabletop game, repairs typically could only be done after battle. And even after battle it took a full day for a green tech to repair 1/2 ton of armor.

Of course, in the campaigns of battletech the tabletop game. You could lose entire mechs if you are not careful, and had to buy new ones with the money you earn from mission to mission in the campaigns.

You all don't have to experience in game, where you had to buy brand spanken new guns because they got destroyed in combat. Or entirely new mechs because they got destroyed. (one of the reasons that made sure that light mechs stayed useful, after all in battletech, it was much cheaper to replace a light mech then it was to replace an assault mech)

The whole point of battletech, and in turn the mechwarrior games is that you be thoughtful of your choices, and your choices has consequences. Be thankful that you don't have to buy a brand new 'mech everytime you get destroyed in MWO.

Near instant repair: no.

More support options: sure.
Fluid Guns to spray coolant, oil slicks, and napalm (no ammo switching mechanic yet though).
Mech Mortars for radar and sight blocking smoke, and flares. (technical issues since smoke can be turned off for performance)

No. That path leads to Mech Assault and other unrealistic arcadey powerups.

Okay, I'll add a constructive response:

Armour-repair on the battlefield? No. Unrealistic.
Armour-repair in a MFB? Rather No. Too slow if done realistic.

Internals-repair? No. Unrealistic.

Ammo-refill on the battlefield? No. Unrealistic.
Ammo-refill in a MFB? Rather Yes.

UAV and Cool-Shot refill in a MFB? Rather Yes.

HAWKEN much?

Maybe a repair facility in CW, with limits on use or map conditions, I dunno. I cannot see any point in a pug/queue match other than prolonging it inconveniently.

Don't want to seem rude, but it'd be awfully difficult to fix up a 'Mech from the cockpit. And if you're asking for a 'Mech to repair another 'Mech, well... Endo-Steel bandages?

What about Ferro Fibrous sutures???
